In this video I compare how much noticeable the rolling shutter effect is on the new Nikon Z9 vs Sony A1 using an 8K format.
I compare both cameras to the Sony ZV E10 which has very bad rolling shutter in 4k resolution.

Try it with Nikon's 2.8x 4K crop. It's a 1:1 pixel readout, I'm guessing it's faster.

The Z9 and A1 are essentially the same. Well, not the price. Also, most Sony E lenses have a ridiculously high amount of focus breathing, thus not really suitable for serious video use.

I think first teat is more practical than second and third test. As we do occasionally pan that fast. like doing action/sport scene pan from one scene to next. As second example I do not think people pay attention to the strings....Third example who shoot a boring fan as main subject in frame.
Anyway thank you for the test. We can see clearly which camera is better at this.

I don't see much of a difference between A1 and Z9. Please do an AF test next and include the R5.

can you do a low light AF test between the two please? Some reviews showing the Z9 really struggling.

Imho first comparison is not proper. As far as i can see, movement for sony is quite faster than for nikon. In ideal condition i'd mount both bodies on the same mount and shoot at the same time.
