The only issue with Nikon was autofocus, at other department Nikon was always superior. now, they have fixed the issue. Nikon all day.

Z9 makes more sense if you are planning to enter a new system. Though few specs of A1 tops (eg. EVF), there are caveats when comes to the real shooting experience. It is strange that the video does not mention the price difference. When you buy A1 you will mostly end up buying an external battery grip. Where Z9 managed to have a pro body with $1000 less, and if you need an A1 battery grip the difference in price will be even higher.

Another very important aspect is ergonomics, the feel of a camera in hand. Nikon is easily the best at this.

Both are very much state of the art mirrorless cameras but for my money I prefer the colour balance and saturation of the Z9.

I also find it very suspicious that you only have around 3000 subscribers and yet when you type Z9 in the search bar your crap review with many dislikes pops up. When there are many other popular channels with much more views than yours and you have to scroll down. That show's how sony has dominated and controlled marketing.

The only thing Sony had over Nikon (in still photography) was AF. That playing field has now been leveled. All other aspects go to Nikon - ergonomics, build, dynamic range, overall image quality, and more. Easy choice.

Sony A1 fastest scanned at 4K 120 p which is at 6ms,
Z9 at 4K 120p at 4.86 ms … that information is not right .. check the DP review article

You need to get your facts straight - the sensor on the Z9 IS Backside Illuminated (BSI). They don't put it prominently in the marketing material but several Nikon officials have confirmed this publicly, so please do your research.

No mention of dynamic range? Shame, the Nikon is king here as well 🙂

One of the most important delivery of a camera is color science, I shoot Sony but I think Nikon has better color.

You forgot to mention weather sealing! Nikons excellent at that!

Well, both are back side illuminated, the Z9 has a faster read out speed than the A1, 40 fps is not even a thing and if the battery actually drained after 700 shots, it would need charging every six minutes in the 120fps mode (which you didn't even mention). This is not helpful!

Slower read and right on theb Type A cf express card & is more liable to get damaged and easily mistaken for an SD card. Battery life and buy a battery pack for the Alpha A1 is not as robustly built or as weather sealed as the Nikon Z9.

15.2 milliseconds or 14.3 milliseconds. Which one is faster? I am no expert, but usually anything that takes less time is faster, right? So Nikon sensor read out is faster.
Z9 is BSI

Dpreview have just done a post on the Z9 evf and how it works. They say its the best evf in a camera at this moment. The A1 is a pro spec camera in a prosumer body.

At 1:33 the video claims that Z9 sensor is not BSI. According to Nikon, it in fact is: "At the core of the Z 9 is the Nikon-developed 45.7MP BSI stacked CMOS sensor, coupled with the new EXPEED 7, Nikon’s most powerful engine yet, which is approximately 10x faster than the Z 7II."

Have to love the comparison with just the specs and someone who hasn't held either camera. People considering these high end cameras are going to want much more tactile feel and other reviews. Example of how wrong this review is (picking the most obvious one) - the rating of the battery. Watch the Matt Granger review on battery life and how you got over 23, 000 shots out of the new Z9 battery. Several other reviews have commented on how the rating is not even close to what they are getting. One other example is that the shooting buffer depth in raw depends on the type of card you are using with minimum write speed and the size of the raw file being used (example of lossless compress vs High efficiency raw star in Nikon with 60 to 80 in uncompressed and over 1, 100 in high efficiency raw star).

I wish you would have done your research before spreading misinformation about Nikon.

clearly you are A1 lover, no need to do the compare.

There's more things that one has to consider, like second hand value/ depreciation, then it is ease of use/ friendly menus and fast navigation therein, then it's support, pro services and repairs, then it is "trust ability" or how much can you rely upon the system to perform flawlessly In all weather conditions and by that I don't mean just overheating, I mean failures like shutter box, etc. If you take these considerations into account then it becomes very obvious that the Z9 smokes the A1 hands down, any day of the week!
