Company’s that try to branch out and make a different type of product usually end up sucking. It seems to me that they bank on their name selling said product instead of making a quality designed product. Idk jus my 2 cents lol

You hit all the points to why I never bought one and then added some more!

When I saw this product on their website I thought it was dumb because it was gimmicky. I use axes and hatchets all the time because I'm cutting firewood from late august-March and like you i like something that's comfortable to use. That's why I bought a fiskars axe a couple months ago

Zippo - STAY IN YOUR LANE - stick with lighters, maybe the fire starters

Ah I remember this thing
Interesting idea, poor execution ☹
Difficult to make multipurpose tools like this work

Zippo should stick to what they are good at MAKING LIGHTERS THAT LAST FOREVER!!!!

I have seen this saw working, for cutting small limbs(4-5 inches), its dynamo. The hatchet...hatchet is for splitting those small limbs into firewood kindling. And why wouldn’t you take the plastic cover off when using the hammer end? If you really think that’s dangerous, you shouldn’t be outside...and remember it’s for tent stakes!
Sounds to me like you bought it, abused it, broke it, and are just mad that Zippo wouldn’t give you another one. Which by the way, I think they should, just on principle. Sorry for my lousy 2 cents worth, but I have tools that go a long way back, because I don’t wreck them on purpose. Just saying...

I also don't like the fact that you have to purchase proprietary replacement blades from Zippo. I'd much rather have something like the Agawa Canyon Boreal21 that accepts standard 21" bow saw blades that can easily be found at hardware stores for half the price. Thanks for eliminating this tool from my considerations!

I don't trust any of the crap from bradford that ain't case knives and OG zippo lighters, and I guess roseart stuff. From their butane lighters, to their office doodads, to the camping gear. Everyone says it sucks and I knew it would from the start. At best the butane inserts are ok because they're made by Zorro, who makes nice 1 handed operation lighters anyway albeit mainlanders.

I remember when you did the first video on this tool Jeff. Hard to believe it's been 8 years since then. Where did the time go?

I was really considering buying one of these. I’m glad I didn’t.

I like to buy hand forged hatchets and axes from Sweden, Hults Bruk etc., that thing looks like it has a lot of utility

You'd be much better off using a traditional wood handle axe (of which there are many variations) and a dedicated wood saw.

I was taught to only use the back of the hatchet to drive tent steaks and to tap them in without swinging the hatchet like a hammer but would be nice if they would have made a better cover no sense in a cover if it can’t hold up that camp axe just looks really uncomfortable zippo should stick to lighters lol but any time you try and make something have multiple functions each function will work less and less than intended the more you add tool wise the less that tool will be reliable I prefer tools that are one specific tool and don’t try and be a all in one deal

These 4 in 1 tools are usually garbage. I wonder if zippo would replace the sheath for you at least.
