I find American beech bowl blanks deform a lot as they dry. I sometimes use a belt sander to flatten the rim before putting them in cole jaws or on a padded plate.

Learned something again. Didn't know wood closer to pith stayes in place and wood farther out shrinks. Makes sense. Cool idea for mounting it.

Boy, that turned out so nice. T&T finish is perfect food safe. I picked some up a few months ago. What grit is your diamond wheel? Left & Right. Assume left is more course as you usually use the right. The tool steel seems so smooth and no facets. I like that. Where did you pick up that black cherry? Thank for sharing
