Turning A Perfect Tenon – Wooden Bowl Foot Base Chuck Connection - Woodturning Video
Показать описание
Turning a perfect tenon is the best way to assure the whole turning process of your wood bowl will be successful. A secure and properly formed tenon, sometimes called a spigot or foot, guarantees a true connection to the four-jaw chuck.
There are three critical elements about the design and shape of a perfect tenon; the tenon shoulder is flush and flat, the angle of the tenon side matches the angle of the dovetail chuck jaws, and the length of the tenon does not allow the tenon to contact the inside base of the chuck.
Watch this video to learn the best way to shape and form a perfect tenon for turning wood bowls and other turnings on the lathe.
