I’ve only been turning for 3 months so although I have experienced all of the problems you stated, the more times I watch your video the better the information sinks in.Because I do make at least 1 of these mistakes each time I turn a bowl on my midi lathe.

Lathe videos love to talk about angles. Tool angles. They NEVER ever specify which of the three angles they're talking about. There are three: 1). The relationship between the tool and the floor - the handle up or down. 2). The lateral application to the work - the handle left or right. 3). The amount of cut at the tool point - the handle twist open or closed.

It is a frequent cause for confusion

It would be great if you could add this to your complete bowl turning course. It shows a number of things from that course really clearly, but adds value by putting them in context.

Excellent demonstration showing closeups of the bowl gouge and the correct angles for use. Catches can be frightening. This video is just what I needed.
