Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid adds to an already burgeoning strikeforce of Vinicius Junior, Rodryo, Jude Bellingham and the soon-to-arrive Endrick.

So where does Mbappe fit in? Liam Tharme argues that with Carlo Ancelotti as manager Real Madrid with all their superstars is the perfect place for Mbappe to reach his potential.

Marco Bevilacqua illustrates.

They've had over 2 years to plan his position. If he didn't fit they'd have moved on a while ago

Real Madrid have been the most tactically flexible team in this sport for a decade. They won a UCL/La Liga title with a 34 year old striker in 2022 and won that exact double WITHOUT a striker at all just this year, with a 19/20 year old midfielder being the top scorer. Thinking they didn't have a plan for how they'd use a player they've been chasing for 5 years is ludicrous.

4:27 It is so weird to see a real madrid XI without kroos

Ancelotti is perhaps the most underrated managers of all time..Last of a kind who adapts to the players and allows them to express themselves instead of sticking them to a rigid system... Although Xabi Alonso gives me some hope..

4:19 Modric doesnt start anymore, it's going to be Tchouamèni in that position

What makes me the most confident about Madrid making it work is Valverde and Bellingham. Both are amazing offensively but can put in a serious defensive shift which could help cover the lack of pressing from Vini and Mbappe.

This is one of the reasons Ancelotti is my favorite. He is humble enough to realize that happy and accomodated players play better

Neymar at PSG had some of the best defensive numbers in the entire team 😂 Messi and Mbappe were the true non factors

so in a nutshell 'Carlo will sort it out' - I'm sure he will, but we're not much the wiser as to how. I think the final suggestion of Jude at 10 and Kylian at 9 (but interchanging with Vini) will probably be the solution

No way they will prioritize Modric over Tchouameni or Camavinga.

ancelotti doesnt get enough praise man, he's got 4 balon d'or winners under his belt, won at almost every club he's gone to and has always stood by his tactics. him and mou are my favorite coaches cause they love the game through and through

Lovely thing is, if Vini gets tired, they can slot in Kylian at LW and have Endrick as a traditional 9, or Rodrygo as a false 9 (like against Sevilla) — or vice versa if Kylian does too. Let’s not forget Arda Guler either… quite a bit of depth here, finally.

Best part is his injury record is insanely low for the number of games he's played since his debut. I'm so excited for the new season, RM's wins were hardly convincing last season.

‪Mbappé knows what he have to do and will always try his best, let’s give up the “mbappé always wants to be the main man” gimmick.‬ Last years in psg, Mbappé honestly at times had to minimize his strengths for the collective of the team because of the other player’s shortcomings or simply because the coach didn’t value his ability. (Galtier and Enrique)

People love saying “mbappé lost his ability to do what he’s best at” but then ignore the fact 23/24 Enrique and the midfield didn’t and couldn’t complement Mbappe’s strengths, plus psg was always playing on the right side (everyone in the midfield either passing back or to dembele even tho he’s a poor crosser and would hardly find Mbappé or Ramos where they needed the ball) psg also lacked quality and consistent chance creators. Mbappé still scored around 44 goals

If Mbappe plays on the 9, he might constantly swap position, either he plays on the left while Vini upfront, or on the 9.

4-2-3-1 with Modric in a double pivot would leave Madrid’s defence brutally exposed.
I think Ancelotti will try a 4-3-3 in attack and 4-4-2 without the ball.

I just realized something random but cr7 is older than lamine Yamal and Nico Williams ages combined

Modric wont play more than 30 minutes a game this season … camavinga or tchomeni will start over him for sure!

He is exactly what Madrid needed with their counterattacking style, a fast lethal finisher

I like how Madrid's approach to the next season. They are preparing for the work load demand of UCL and maintaining dominance in Laliga.
