I was a former atheist and I mean it with every single molecule in my body, I am extremely happy that God decided to open my eyes and show me His love. I am happy that I know now what and who is the real Way, the Truth, and the Life. Disregarding God is one of the greatest mistakes one can make. I pray that Jesus pours over his love and mercy to others who are lost just like I was.

As a former student of Dr. Heiser and a long-time fan of his, I'm so grateful you included some of his teachings. I still miss Professor Heiser, but I praise God for his legacy.

Dr. Heiser was the most engaging and informative biblical scholar I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of them for over 50 years. His death from cancer about a year ago, at just 60, was a loss that many will be feeling for years to come. He revealed things from the text that I would never have seen on my own, and he gave me a perspective on Scripture that's been unmatched by any other teachers, pastors, or theologians. Other than his death, my only greater regret is not discovering him a decade earlier than I did. He was a treasure.

And even, the Canaanites had their opportunity for repentance, they had 40 years after the Hebrews went free from Egypt and the only one that repented and accepted God was Rahab, she and her family didn't die on the invasion, and there is the city of Nineveh too, God were to destroy them but they repent themselves and God forgive them, God always give us the chance to repent ourselves from our sins when we confess it to him

Cody is the kind of person who has a lot to say, including questions, but isn't necessarily looking for answers in good faith.
I was like this. There is hope for him!

Hebrews 11:17-19 explains God's perspective. This is why it's important to know God's word!!!

Love Dr. Heiser and his explanation. He has challenged me and my understanding of the universe in so many ways. He will be missed, but his legacy is so worthy of a well done.

Abraham was an illustration of how painful it would be to kill your only son. He saw Abraham's faith and stopped him. But do you know who did send his only son to die as a sacrifice?

Abraham offering is Isaac is definitely something that used to bother me as a child. However when I got older I understood that not only God knew who he was asking to do such an offering (He knew of course beforehand that Abraham would be loyal and Isaac too). Even more interesting is that this is of course very comparable to God offering his own son. This and more things in the Bible can be shocking at first but if you think things through and are not misled by your own fleeting feelings you will gain much deeper understanding.

Reminds me of this quote: “If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”

Love Dr. Michael S. Heiser. He has a very interesting approach to scripture that is hard to argue with. I’ve certainly learned from him over the years, and I still wrestle with things he taught when he was here with us.

My advice to the teenager there would be "Don't ever try to corral an opponent who is superior to/wiser/more knowledgable than you by insisting that they must answer your question as 'Yes" or 'No'. Chances are, it's your limited experience and ability to take into account nuance, if not just your arrogance, that makes you think the issue is so clear cut"

Abraham did not murder his son. God stopped him. God showed his merciful love for us by showing He is not like the false gods of the land. God says I would never ask you to sacrifice your son. I AM going to sacrifice my Son for you. ❤
A beautiful foreshadowing of the Cross 🥰

I really like how put this sort of teaser together. We're very fortunate to have such great people for each aspect of these questions. Many people are really busy and sadly clueless to these insights from focused great Christians. Thanks

Long time underling of Dr. Mike Heiser, it brings me joy to see him on such an educated channel. He was most certainly an extraordinary theologian, yet knew what he was doing. When it comes to exegesis, Heiser was perhaps the best in modern times.
