The only disagreement I have is your argument that we should “act or look normal” sorry but I’m almost 40 and I’m a metal head, the last thing I’m concerned with at this point in my life is fitting in with normies. I spent a good chunk of my 20s and early 30s trying to dress myself down and all I ended up doing was making myself depressed, unhappy and giving myself unnecessary anxiety.

Thank you for bringing this up! Though it is just fine for everyone to do whatever hack they want, people cannot take us seriously when all they see is metal band style outfit, all viking masculinity (like what we don’t have women?), and weirdness in general. There were just normal people who had this religion, and they were the majority, not the warriors, same now, we are not all vikings with horns on our heads!

Well you do realize that Paganism is an ethnic religion? For example an Asian or Middle Easterner wouldn't practice Norse Paganism.

I personally don’t do very much face painting for rituals but I Honestly don’t see an issue with it, if anything I have a greater issue with the “Viking Aesthetic” that’s attached to the religion, I don’t really care if people search Heathenry or Norse paganism and see a person with face paint because if they expect us to look like that, that’s on them, not all Christians believe or practice the same and neither do Heathens it’s just the way it is! I do think normalisation is important though and that normalising our holidays and taking time off for them/feeling comfortable to tell people if they ask is a really good step towards normalisation.

Although I agree with a lot of what was said, what I do take issue with is (1) saying those that dress in traditional garb, or even those that follow an inaccurate Viking aesthetic are the reason we aren't taken seriously. As a recon Norse pagan, traditional garb is important in my practice and to many others wishing to make a connection to the old ways. It's disheartening to hear someone lay blame on us or invalidate what we do because it doesn't fit modern society. I can understand to a point, but I don't go around in every day life dressed like that, more for special ceremonies or occasions. Just like Christians and other faiths do I might add.
(2) Blot does not have to include animal sacrifice and most people I've introduced to my faith have no idea what Blot even is. So I don't know where this association you claim is coming from. I had started to practice for some time before I even learned what it is. When I hold Blot, I give offerings of things I've grown, a nice alcohol or something I've crafted.
Otherwise a nice video, it's nice to hear people trying to normalize our faith.

I don't believe in living sacrifice but I mainly work with loki some gods every now and then and the spirits are my main focus tho land and house spirits

Ive been a heathen for almost my whole life and I never got is that the Skyrim or Marvel question. We don't need orthodoxy this can lead to people making my traditions derive away from truth, as new false hoods are easily done these days.
I will never support an organized form of heathenry, that is not the way of my culture.
I don't care if people think what I believe is strange, my freedom to do what I like is best. Cowards only care about fitting in.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell  (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊
Or just be my friend if you don't want to say the prayer 😄

You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both 🙏☺ Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol.

Say '  Om Namah Shivaya  ' out loud or in your head 108 times, or try to do it 1008 times 😊 try to do it everyday if you want

We dont need to normalize heathenry. We do not have a fully functioning working copy of the old path, nor have most people who claim to practice it formed a complete path. Most are eclectic norse pagans or wiccatru or modern asatru at best. None of those options get close enough to the truth. We do not need an orthodoxy and our path is not about having an easy life, it is often about overcoming adversity.

Norse culture and myth are the collective property of norse people. We are white, it is simply a fact of who we are and we do not need to capitulate to those who dislike us.
We are not like an abrahamic faith, these are folk based traditions that belong to an ethnic people. You can create your mctemple to heathen gods but you will be as far from truth as any who say we practice marvel worship.

We will teach our own, we will be open to our own. We can respect other cultures and peoples faiths and religions or at the very least tolerate them but they are neither welcome nor tolerated to adulterate or consume the faith or traditions of our people as their own. For this reason truth is always played closer to the vest and people like you will be only as larpers pretending at the truth no matter how big or mainstream your following gets.

You will never bow enough for them, scrape enough for them. They will never be happy, they will see you and see a fourth reich even if the AFA died tomorrow. They will never be happy or have enough and they will never live and let live. You are deluding yourself and others with this banner of acceptance.
