Avatar 1 vs Avatar 2 MAJOR Differences

Let’s face it - the Avatar films will just keep on getting better and better - and just push the boundaries of film making every time. Even with the small step from Avatar 1 to Avatar 2 - produced a ton of differences between each film.
How they managed to pull off filming three movies at the same time - is beyond us. It will soon always be known as someone pulling a James Cameron honestly. While filming multiple movies at once is great - it still adds on a ton more resources needed to get the job done - and the job done right of course. Unlike the first installment - they had a whole lot more of everything for this movie - and most apparently - filmed it underwater. It must’ve been strange for the actors to have been filming on land and then completely underwater for the second one. Really couldn’t have been done without the help of a generous lump sum for Cameron though. A big budget can sometimes make a project turn out better - but Cameron wasn’t just focusing on making Avatar better. He was also actually improving the way films are shot.
We still could never understand how James has any hair left after filming one Avatar movie - let alone a whole series of them! But it seems like whatever he’s got brewing in the writers room is sufficient enough to make the studios budget back and more. What do you think will be different in Avatar 3 if any? Honestly - that maybe something you can’t answer since the team really pulled no punches on this one.

Strangely, I've found that Avatar 1 was more natural, I mean the people and the main characters, they seemed to be bigger and more alien, compared to A 2 in which they got a smaller human face and a smaller body...I didn't like these changes.

I don’t understand why the first one looked so real and the second one looked like a cartoon. The technology was supposed to get better or at least maintain. Just a guess but maybe they didn’t have the time or had to save money to make multiple movies. Similar to the Matrix trilogy.

I really hated the implementation of CGI in Avatar 2 compared to Avatar 1. The way they implemented humans in the series highlights what I'm talking about. Humans in Avatar 1 are real where there were times the humans in 2 looked like a Command and Conquer cut scene.

i feel like the story of avatar 2 flows better than the first one as they already had most of the worldbuilding set up. of course a lot of new aspects were introduced with the reef clans, but audiences would have a grasp on things like eywa, avatars, queues, etc. also A2's story can be much more personal with its family struggles.

Avatar The Way Of Water had greater complexity and more emphasis on the world of Pandora.

The second movie more focused primarily on the Na’vi instead of human leads, re-balancing the issue many critics had with the original.

All of the digs in this video are very weird. Like it was written by ai. It’s like you can tell they’re trying to make quips but they are meaningless at the exact same time. Like an ai without a soul trying to imitate snarky critiques. Weird af.

avatar 2 is just too goofy and too focused on the kids in my opinion. Avatar 1 had a much more alien like nature which i really miss in the second movie. The kids are too human like in my opinion.


I just miss the magic avatar 1 gave me.

Both Avatar 1 and 2 are kinda meh, in my personal opinion but avatar 2 did have really good younger adult/child actors
