A Frame camper / pop up camper set up and overview - Forest River Rockwood A214HW

In this video I show you how to set up the A214 HW model from Forest River (Rockwood). This is a 2016, and from what I can tell, they will all work like this, with very little differences if any. I also give you an overview of what it comes with, and of course that can slightly vary depending on how old or how new it is, but from what I've seen with popup campers, there isn't much variation.

It's fairly easy to set up:
- unlatch the latches around it (these hold everything down in transit).
- push a button and the two sides go up
- go inside and manually open up the walls - watch the video on how to do it right, there is a sequence to some of it
- pop out the little window area, latch everything down
- set up the bathroom by opening up the walls and attaching the door
It's pretty simple

Overview:
This is my favorite, I have researched this and this is exactly what I need and what I want:
- queen size bed
- dinette that folds down for additional bed
- burner stove with self ignition, sink with water pump
- large fridge with freezer (3 way power)
- casette toilet and shower combo with a privacy wall around it
- microwave
- radio with CD player
- air conditioner
- furnace (heater)
- lots of windows that open up, and a skylight
- battery
- two propane tanks
- electric front jack, manual jacks around
- lots of storage accessible from outside, also inside, under the bed (accessible from outside as well), storage under dinette, and some cabinets. Large front storage that is also accessible from the side, they pull out so you don't need to climb in.

Thank you for watching - please let me know if you have questions! Stay tuned for upcoming videos, I already made some minor upgrades (those are pretty cool, I didn't know they existed before) and I'm going camping for a week, so lots of videos are coming!

Someone in my neighborhood is selling a model just like yours (at least from the outside). I drove by, got the seller’s info (didn’t talk to seller nor did I see inside). Skeptical about whether this would be over my head. NO! You have inspired me!

I appreciate your video and your willingness to show what happens when you don’t open the walls right! Very helpful!

Keeping it truly real and nothing to do with sales and marketing. This is an honest video what almost all people go through that havent done this before. Staying away from this Frame Camper. I cant belive no one has sued them for this design because someone or more than one person could easily get injured pretty badly

I bought a 2023 A213 that I love. I did not get the automatic opener. Maiden voyage over the next few weeks!

I have one of these for a few years now. I knew exactly where you were making the errors first try setting up. Here’s a tip, it is helpful to help the lift motor a bit by pushing up on the handle on the back roof section. Speeds up and saves wear and tear on the motor. The lift motor is a weak point and I have gone through 3. The third one had an engineering change adding a rubber boot around the motor. Hopefully that will keep water from running down the street into the motor and rusting it out.

After you unlatch the front dormer, you can push it up from the inside. The center latch has the hasp for a padlock because you only need to have one to secure the dormer. Likewise, the two roof latches on the sides only one has a hasp for a lock.

Overall, I’m very happy with the trailer. It towes super easy with a small SUV with a 3500 pound rating.

After watching and reading all these damage stories I've decided to rent a trailer when the urge gets me.

Nice job and thank you for posting ! My partner and I are considering one. But I am 6'4' - I know I can fit under the "A", but will I be able to stand straight at the cook-top?

I wonder how much were and tear will cause this to eventually damage and have to replace later. Nice color on The nails by the way.

Thanks for your review.. Considering one of these - upgrading from tent camping and sleeping on the ground..
Do you mind my asking how tall you and your friend are?
Wondering about the bed as we are used to a king and my partner is 6'3 and I am 5'7 . So are you head to toe right at the walls? - and does it feel cramped on the inside against the sloped roof? Thanks.

I am purchasing a one-owner used 2021 of this model. Would you recommend the 4 year extended warranty for a newbie camper? I'm debating if I want to add this cost or just keep money to the side for repair costs like that bubble window that's going to eventually leak or God forbid, an issue with the AC.

Remember popup canvas can't go to where bears might be

You should give the weights of campers so people know it their vehicle will tow, and measurements for storage related reasons cheers!

Thank goodness that wall didn't fall on you. Think I'll go with a tear drop trailer
