Tried this on some black new balance classics, which are real suede. It actually burns off the uneven lighter coloured hairs, making the suede look more even and clean. From what I can say it works on black suede. Wouldn’t recommend putting the lighter that long on the shoe like the guy in the video does. But it definitely won’t burn the more dense shorter fibres of the suede. Everyone commenting “good way to burn shoes” is wrong and prob has never owned suede shoes.

100 pecent works in my DC shoe Trace SD color Black, Grey but the white color doesn't change. Its okay dye suede can handle it but the ruin hair it disappeared this method is really works thank you for this method

I wouldn’t recommend using a lighter on Nike’s or Jordan’s best to use hair dyer

Guys i got another way all u need is a soft bristle brush and swipe one direction on the suede a couple times not too hard and it will work! It resets most of the suede

Yeah, . Would not recommend doing this. Feel like it's just removing the lint/fuzz of the suede and charring it to appear darker

I did this on my Osiris because there where some white nap stands on the black suede, it worked but smelled bad lol

Hi. Is the lighter to burn down the parts of the suede that is pilling? Also on lighter colors will it show burn marks from lighter? Does it darken the suede or make it hard?

This helps if you have little Tears sticking up near the stitching in the suede, it will burn them down evenly, just tried it
