if you are 20 hours in game and didn't even watch the controller layout in the menu, or haven't pressed the triangle button once, then i don't know who's at fault lol ;)

Got over 300 hours on the PC with this game, probably my fav title of last decade. Weird that it sold so poorly and has left Obsidian evaluating the franchise's future.

I have a few tips to make peoples experience more smooth on PS4.

1. Don't play turn based, it's broken. Especially on Poko Kahara.

2. Just keep 1 manual save file and three auto saves. This actually helps not increase load times.

3. Clean out your inventory, don't let it get too massive with weapons, armor etc

4. Poko Kahara again, just finish it as soon as possible. Don't explore on that place. For some reason this place is unstable.

5. If game starts lag it helps if you relaunch the game. It's not ideal but it's better than lag.

As you mentioned, the load times/crashes were a VERY BIG issue for me in the original game's PS4 release. It got to the point that I was forced to ignore my OCD and I made myself stop going to the living quarters in Caed Nua to organize and store gear because the 6 - 8 loading screens it took to make a round trip from where ever I was on the map coupled with the frequent freezes and crashes during said transitions meant that it would sometimes take me upwards of an hour (and infinite patience) to do such. As a result, I quite literally had to force myself through the last 15 or so hours of my play though just to see how the story ended. Often, I had to talk myself out of dropping the game all together.

It was NOT an enjoyable experience but I loved the story so I endured it.

I'm very interested in PoE2, and it's nice to know that in return for the gauntlet I worked through will be repaid by me being allowed to use my character from the last game, but I was truly hoping that the load/crash issues would have been addressed by now. I'm no game designer, but I honestly can't understand why this is an issue that has lingered for so long over 5 years and two games. Is it just that Obsidian needs to have another group handle their ports or is their programming architecture just that poor? Do they not care that this is a persistent issue plaguing their console players/supporters? I just don't get it.

Automatic day 1 buy for us on the PS4. 1) This studio deserves to be supported we love Obsidian 2) They are now (Obsidian) a Microsoft exclusive studio so this MAY be the last Obsidian game we can ever buy and play on a PS system. An 3rd and last) The original game was stellar and along with Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 are the Balder's Gate Ice Wing Dale and Never Winter games of the modern era. @Fextralife HUGE THANK YOU for focusing some time on this brilliant game and hope to see you all do build guides or tips for new comer's to the PS4 game. Much thanks and appreciation for the rpg Love of this channel.

*pro-tip* I was also was frustrated with the lack of item description screens popping. If you push the Triangle button on the hover in the menu screen, the description will pop the second window! :)

The turn based battles r amazing. I'm not very good at real time and pause so this made it very playable for me. I'm surprised at how many times I hear that someone just discovered this button does this thing. I'm the type of person that pushes all the buttons like a kid in an elevator right away to see what they all do

The story is fantastic, but the load times have me asking "is it worth it?"

Hopefully by the time I'm fully done with DOS2, they will work out all the issues with this.

I'm looking forward to play POE 2 on PS4. Thank you for the advice to have less than 10 save games to improve loading times. That's very much appreciated.

It's great, but those load times are tough.

I happened to be off work when this released yesterday. Eight hours went by before I even knew it. I am really enjoying this game so far and I love the unique take on traversing the world map and exploring.

I really loved Poe 1 on PS4 but it did crash a few times and the loading times were a huge problem, I'm sad to hear Deadfire has the very same issues. Looks like a wait for heavy sale before I buy. Cheers for the review!

Hi on console you press L3 (push in the left stick) to see tooltips for items. Hope this helps

I didn't play pillars one because of real time pause but now that I know turn-based is a option I'll actually pick this up

Absolutely love this game so far on PS4....but the load times hurt my soul.

I've been going back and forth a ton on turn-based or real-time, but I think I'll just trust your judgment and go turn-based.

Playing it on the PS4 now. You literally nailed just about everything. Inventory bug as well is frustrating. Loading times are rough but everything else is great

Ugh, sad to hear about the loading times. Really took a toll on enjoyment of the first game even on the PS4 pro. It is actually what I remember most of the first game...
Bums me out, as this looks to be a way better game than the first one. Better animations, better graphics, more cool looking gear and epic boss designs/fights.
