I would never choose a language based on its market value. Software development tends to get so boring if you don't enjoy it. So always go with the platform and the language you love to program with. that's the only way to be successful.

BTW, it seems certain robots are making a huge success, as a consumer product, they're called DJI Robomaster S1, and seems is HUGE in China, and is being sold now in the US and many countries. They even have big competitions with these robots in China, it seems the interesting part is that you can program their AI with... guess it... Python ! and is that variability what makes the competition so engaging. Dunno, is even scary, Skynet is ;) . Seriously, I do see a HUGE future for Python. Or I am getting that impression from several sources (luckily, I like the syntax). My area is really with a very large delay in tech, always, and still, many jobs already in Python. I was expecting that to hit in like 2 -4 years. But it is already here. (as a sample, they're still requiring Angular here, while I the rest of the country, is React, and I guess Vue will replace most, at some point.). But Python is getting here sooner (I know is apple to oranges, but I mean in terms of innovations ) than those.

I studied a bit of python, since I wanted to learn an open source language, I come from being a programmer in basic.net, but python it seemed to me that it is easy to become disordered with the syntax, the use of variables, the nonexistent way of easy and visual way ( semicolons { } ) to delimit the blocks in the code, etc, then I started studying C #, and now with the .net core 2.0, I saw many similarities with python, java, at least some of the best features of both languages, and with the visual studio code, the new way to create web apps feels some similar to django development style, I feel more comfortable in this language.Greetings.

So Swift is looking to take over Pythons role in machine learning. Tensorflow and fast.ai are embracing swift in a big way. If you are looking into machine learning, study python but make sure you also get Swift under your belt too

Regarding Python, before YouTube videos play, there is ALWAYS a commercial that says "Python is where it's at. You could do almost anything with it. You know, you ought to take this online Python course at udemy...." LOL.

I think of learning a second programming language kind of like learning a second human language. If you only ever speak one language, it might seem like just words put in front of one another, and that other languages are just translating those words. When you start learning another language, you realize the structure behind them much better, and what things you can do with either language and what you can't.

It's the same with programming. Learning another language gives you a different perspective on how certain things can be done. "If all you have is a hammer..."

Next: Should you continue (or start ) learning Java?

I think that there are a few things that python can do that are not really used. Such as django. Great framework but people prefer LAMP stack in my country.

I'm about to use Python for AI and Machine Learning on my Spring Boot app! Please talk about Java more - even if it's bad news or an unfavorable opinion!!!

True Stefan-Programming is fun when done in multiple languages. Imagine doing data science and analytics using both Python and R

Hi Stefan, I always watch your channel and I always value your advice. I had a question, been programming for 6 months in JavaScript, HTML and CSS. I have a decent handle on the fundamentals. But I wanted to give JavaScript a rest for maybe 2 or 3 weeks because I want to pick up my first programming language Python and get better at it so I can use it to automate personal things in my life. bought the book "Automate the boring stuff with Python" to create at least one project, seen one which mentioned web scraping. My true end goal is to get a job in web development. Should I put off the Python project and continue only on JavaScript and come back to Python once I reach my end goal? By putting on the side JavaScript to have a hobby automating stuff for myself could this be considered a setback. I always appreciate your insight and wisdom thank you once again.

Don't go for easy. Go for foundations, but nothing worthwhile is easy.

I have JavaScript family in the mern stack with React and Nodejs. Would learning other programming languages (like php and/or python which you mentioned) for web development help me stand out to get my first job as a web developer?

P.S. I went into JavaScript web development from getting an A in an intro to OOP with C++ class in college which was an easier transition with a downward learning curve.

I have a question, not sure is a good theme for a video... I've heard that ICANN is finally going remove the limits (or some international organization eliminates those for it, not sure about how it goes ) for the domain prices. Which seems were limited until now. And that it is expected that domain prices will grow to the sky. Like... not being affordable any more for a freelancer, or even a small business. I've heard crazy stuff like these prices going up to 200, 300 and even 1000 $, per year. And with that meaning just regular .com domains.

This could be a huge problem for freelance web developers: Not only we loose the affordability of a domain for making our own portfolio site (with a domain, that is), or even just for testing (though it seems wont affect hosting prices. But who knows), so necessary, but, much worse, small businesses (and some of us have the idea of become small business owners instead of _only_ being freelancing, at some point) will have it much harder to get a site, and so, require from freelancers less sites to be built. This is not good in my book. It's kind of sad, as now that "deplatforming" happening to quite some people, and loose of control over the data files, or the privacy, was making more and more people to opt for a proper website (even if just as a safety net). One could even think that is a move from these huge platforms (facebook, instagram, etc), but that would be too much evil, or just a bit overthinking it.

If all that is going to happen, I am starting to see (sadly) that then Wix, Squarespace will take over web design, because as much as the url for your business being myprettyshoes.wix.com or jimdo.com/myprettyshoes or (ouch) ...it's still better (well, maybe not the last case) than a much longer url (and surely uglier) to the real hosting full url path, as you can't have a domain. An url with several subfolders in it is a marketing failure in every sense.

Or maybe the market will auto compensate itself, like sometimes happens - not always- as there's the need of these people (in massive numbers) for a domain, and not able to afford outrageous prices (but quite willing to pay what was being paid), and then some domain companies will undercut prices to the others. I have no idea (that's why I ask. :D ). It still hunts me the fact that this would clearly benefit the big platforms where your data and stuff is much more out of your control, and you have quite more restrictions, in a moment when these platforms are clearly loosing appreciation from the public, due to latest events (data leaked, deplatforming, security issues, etc) ... I don't know, you always have closer information to these things, I am not sure if you would find it interesting to include in a Q & A video, or something. :)

I tried to find a communication way to ask you, but nothing. So, i do it in this video. I use JavaScript. Should i learn the corner stone JS technologies such as Angular and React? or should i remain use vanilla JavaScript? What's your opinion?
