Overwatch currently is the most "sink or swim" it has ever been imo. The game is so fast paced and punishing now. along with bad matchmaking, you just have to pull your weight. The days of sitting behind endless shields and team fights last 3+ minutes is over. Skill wins games more so than ever, whether you meta pick or not.

People also need to hear that non-meta picks can be viable if you're proficient at them, or it's a good matchup based on the enemy team comp, or the map. So many variables go into every match of every game. Some characters you will roll as one game and then not be able to do a single thing next game even when taking the exact same approach that's just how the game works.

Brig is pretty good for defense against Hammond, as long as you don’t over extend, your whip shot and shield bash are pretty good at stopping his momentum

As a zen main this is so true, I’ve been getting people locking my zen so often who just suck, then their like, oh yea, I’m a mercy main, but zens meta, no, zen and Ana aren’t release brig, you’ll get more value playing mercy, then being a discord bot with no damage. Also let me play zen omg😭

This goes for every average player. You know your aims pretty solid if you can hit master with a mechanical hero. If you can't, don't sweat meta. Just play what makes the most sense/is the most comfortable.

Learn the aim, dummy. Stop avoiding it, you want to improve and contribute improve your aim. If you can hit easy shots consistently you’ll be off to a good start.
