Overview

The Toyota RAV4 turns 30 this year, and it is still obvious why the compact crossover regularly ranks as the best-selling non-pickup in the U.S. There’s nothing flashy here; the RAV4’s focus is on getting every job done without a fuss. It is practical, fuel-efficient, and rugged-looking. Available all-wheel-drive systems add a little bite to the stylistic bark of an SUV that’s actually best when tackling familiar suburban tasks. It offers plenty of features and its wide price range suits shoppers of many budgets. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder and eight-speed automatic deliver restrained acceleration in the name of good fuel economy. Beyond the attractive base price, cargo-friendly interior, and sensible road manners, Toyota also includes a host of driver-assistance tech and desirable infotainment features as standard, two more ways the RAV4 continues to be a challenge for rivals to overcome. A hybrid and a plug-in-hybrid powertrain are also available, but we review those models separately.

What's New for 2024?

Army Green, a paint color already seen on several of Toyota's bigger trucks and SUVs, makes its way to the RAV4 this year. The hue will be offered on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims as a no-cost option. A two-tone color combo will also be available for these variants, paired with either a white or a black roof.

The price of the 2024 Toyota RAV4 starts at $30.025 and goes up to $39.645 depending on the trim and options.
LE: $30,025
XLE: $31,535
XLE Premium: $34,425
Adventure: $36,220
Limited: $38,330
TRD Off-Road: $39,645

Although we’re drawn to the TRD Off-Road, we'd practice restraint and choose the mid-range XLE Premium. It provides plenty of standard equipment that the LE and XLE don't offer as standard or at all, such as fog lights, 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, a moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, faux-leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and soft-touch armrests. Toyota makes its suite of driver-assistance features standard across the lineup, so there's not much reason to go with a pricier trim—unless, of course, you need rugged looks or ventilated seats.

My next car will be a Rav4. Whoever made this video did a fantastic job. My only gripe about this car is that it needs a spare tire. That alone is enough to make me pass on this car. If you have ever broken down with a flat, you know damn well how critical it is to have a spare.

Wish they would put a hand slot on the inside of the door to open and close -the one they use is hard to control when your in a tight parking spot and you gotta lean forward witch takes your center of gravity off to control the door when opening

Que espetáculo de vídeo. Que espetáculo de carro! Tenho a minha 2012 desde zero. Nunca tive dor de cabeça. A meta é ter uma dessas. Uma não, duas, uma pra esposa também. Não trocaria essa por BM ou Mercedes nem a pau, mesmo sabendo que as concorrentes são mais luxuosas. RAV4, só quem tem ou teve sabe que tipo de carro é esse.

RAV4’te kaputta piston yerine dayama çubuğu olmasını çok yadırgadım. It’s a bed surprise; there is a support stick instead of gas lifts under the engine hood.

Got my 2024 Rav4 Hybrid XSE at the end of October of 2023. I do love it. The first time I skipped Past Chevy, Ford and Chrysler for a new car. Approaching 8, 000 miles with 2 road trips of 1500 miles each. Overall average mileage since we picked it up is currently 38.2 MPG. Is improving as it breaks in. Most in town driving is averaging 45 MPG+ anymore. I feel it is a pretty quite ride. As already stated hybrid battery has a 10 year 150K mile warranty. I used to be against hybrids as I thought you had to plug them in. Only the Prime Hybrids can plug in but you don't have to. I'm not convinced the Prime are worth the extra cost.

What trim is this?
I am currently driving this a 2024 XSE. Got it last year, October. Among the first to get it in Toronto. The mileage is insane and has saved me a lot of cash buying gas. Imagine having 4.2L/100km. Thats what I got even in the Winter month.

The fog light in mind is slimmer. Although mine isnt the technology package. The car is worth every penny.

Me pregunto si a éste modelo se le escucha el rodado de las ruedas sobre el pavimimento cuando vas a una velocidad sobre los 100 km/hr y que se transmite al interior de la cabina y es muy molesto y también me pregunto si la caja cvt la habrán mejorado en cuanto a su respuesta de aceleración, ya que cuando la aceleras no responde eficientemente y parece que va a reventar cuando la exiges a la hora de adelantar a otro vehículo.
