What's the most helpful piece of advice you learned from Megan's story?

1. Eat it only if you put it on a plate. Mindful eating.
2. Use food scale and track. Learn what is in the foods you're eating.
3. Make small changes in food changes a bit at a time. Build new habits slowly and without overload.
4. Add strength training.
5. Stop discounting small steps.

So weird… I’m 300 pounds (down 126) and Ive always had the same dream of running. I’ve always wanted to be able to run and running in my dreams just feels so good and freeing. She’s so inspiring ❤

Congratulations Megan!! She is such an inspiration! Here is the most important info that I got out of this video. Long term weight loss and fitness is more of a marathon than a sprint. Over the course of your fitness journey, you will fail and hit some stumbling blocks. If you do, its perfectly okay to start all over again. I think one of the biggest mistakes most people make in their fitness journey is expecting too much too soon. If you're severely overweight, it may take well over a year (or more) to get into shape. Be patient, be persistent, and most important have fun during your journey. You deserve it✌

Thank you Megan for sharing. My Nerd coach is so happy when I take small steps. Up until now it didn’t really set in that she was happy because I was starting small and making habits. For some strange reason I was concentrating on being successful with the number of workouts or the weight I was losing and not the small steps. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Megan, your story is such an inspiration to me. I've always been all or nothing which has gotten me nowhere. I appreciated what you said about putting all of your food on a plate and no more grazing. I also liked what you said about tracking everything and THEN making tweaks and swaps to lower calories. :D I've kind of given up, but think I'll give it another go with these things in mind.

The real struggle isn't losing the weight.that part is actually the fun part.watching your body change by the week.inevitable compliments...that keeps you focused...the real problem few address is keeping it off permanent...after the challenge is complete it's easy to slip right back into old habits..and the weight returns...stop studying those that merely lost weight and study the ones that lost a hundred pounds and had kept it off for five or more years...its only around five percent..

Mindful eating is very important. So many times we eat when we are not hungry or are still full. I'm eating because it's there. I started just checking my gut-am I actually hungry? Most of the time, the answer was no. Also, deciding that the food had to be worth eating. Are the calories worth it in nutrition and taste. If i eat a dessert, it's something i really like, and save those calories for a dessert.
