The mindcrack clips really bring back some nostalgia. I only found hermit craft after my favorite mindcrack players such as etho, bdubs and doc moved over. Saying that, hermitcraft has surpassed anything any predecessor could have imagined. The originality and creativity of the hermits grows every day and hermitcraft today is a absolute masterpiece

Not only has HermitCraft lost it's "that MindCrack clone" reputation, MindCrack is now seen by many people as merely a footnote in HermitCraft's history. I've seen so many videos and posts refering to MindCrack as "that server that inspired HermitCraft". It's actually quite sad to see personally.

I just stumbled onto this video while watching some S10 HermitCraft episodes. Suddenly saw my own face in a recommended video (this one) haha.
It's awesome to see how far HermitCraft has come and see the awesome community you've all created! I'm honored and humbled to have played some small part in its origins.

For those who haven't been around a long time the old mindcrack videos and series like OOGE are well worth watching!

knowing how much impact Hypno and Joe have had on the server really makes me wish they got much more love and attention! I love these videos, a real blast from the past :)

Since you still have a lot of long-standing members currently playing, maybe the next video series (or something within this series) would be an edited round-table discussion of other Hermit's experiences as they joined the HC server and played their first season or two. JoeHills, Etho, Doc, Cleo, Mumbo, Hypno, etc. How they got invited, what they felt like when they started, if they ever thought of leaving, how they feel about old members leaving the server (or new members joining), how their approach to each season changes. I think it would be neat to hear more voices.

Seeing Paulsoaresjr getting a mention always makes me happy. He was my introduction to this entire game

Oh man, seeing Zisteau pop up in those clips made my heart flutter. Vonsway, the E Prank, Super Hostile... good times. :) After Mindcrack, I stopped watching SMP stuff until a random Grian up years later, about the S6 civil war. Binge watching ensued. I'm happy I found this community.

Really recommend going back and watching all of Etho, Beef and Pause's CTM maps. People have made playlists of them and it's one of the best things I have found through first finding Hermitcraft during the pandemic.

I still remember Guude having people genuinely convinced that Beef has no legs... I loved Mindcrack when I was in middle school, and seeing some of my favourite creators come back with HermitCraft so many years later and also leading me to new creators has just been the most amazing thing

"Full of trust and full of personalities" I think that is a great description of why Hermitcraft is indeed so great

I remember finding Mindcrack when Etho joined in December 2011, not long after the official release of 1.0. I was 17 at the time, and I loved watching the Mindcrackers' escapades. They really did set the standard for an unmodded SMP Minecraft community.

It's a shame to see how far they've fallen from the limelight, but as you said X, they were the ones to chart new ground and so had the most risk - and IMO they also just didn't handle the sharp decline in Minecraft's popularity it experienced in 2014 very well. Still, I'm thankful for the memories I have of them - Zisteau was my favorite through the absurd scope of his builds (which are tiny by today's standards!) and the insanity of his pranks. Good times.

This is such a nostalgic vid. I’ve been watching you X since season one and you are still one of the only few YouTubers I still watch. It was great seeing you mention old hermits and got me real nostalgic for Static, Generik, Kieshar, Monkeyfarm and the rest

It's always important to pay tribute to those who paved the way and inspired the current generation. Thank you X!

What nostalgic feeling, this brought back a lot of memories of seeing all this unfold.

Team Canada will forever hold a special place in my heart. The mushroom prank, Guude's Funhouse prank was also legendary, also their playthroughs of Vechs' Super hostile maps. This is what childhoods are built on.
