It's jarring to know just how productive X is. He works out, plays plenty of instruments, makes incredible music, manages the technical aspects of a whole server and best of all, he provides high-quality videos on an almost daily basis. Keep up the good work dude.

Literally spent the last three days setting up a local host for mods for my family. Pulling my hair out all the way. Always wanted to know how hermitcraft did it.

X is such a skilled person when it comes to this stuff, thanks for the memories X :)

I was really exited when X started talking about dedicated server hosting and debian installs, etc. It is definitely the type of thing I'd come to YouTube to watch.

I absolutely love all the modded blocks being featured as backdrop for the conversation. I want to nerd out and list everything, but even I don't know all of them.

man this is unbelievably helpful, there's plenty of people out there who would just keep this stuff to themselves for their own benefit but you're helping so many people by giving some of the best tips on running a server I've seen. You're the best, seriously.

This is a great idea for a video Xisuma. Its almost like we are on the same wavelength because I had wondered why no server admin had really taken the time to break down what running an SMP is like for YouTube. Then again, you are a creator and many server admins who do this are as well, so that can consume so much time. Our server admin is pretty capable and we have already implemented all the features of Hermitcraft that we like, but there are others out there who may need additional assistance figuring this out. Good on you!

Making your version of minecraft available through curseforge is absolutely brilliant. it removes most errors people would get when trying to set it up by themselves, and lets you link to it whenever somebody asks about all the things you have installed. Thank you for providing some insight, can't wait for part 2 and 3

Ayo. As someone who's messed around with linux distros and docker...I am glad that you gus are doing it yourselves. Its nice when the guy sitting in the server room is also playing the game on the server.

I like how you use Applied Energistics for visuals! Something that many players are familiar with and can easily visualize much better than complex real world maths and computer stuff!

Really cool insights! I love these technical things and you and your team do an amazing job running the server, sometimes mistakes happen like we've seen but you always fix it quick, like when the nether became the end chunks because of some folder mixing, or when you deleted docm's underground cannon, so thank you and your team for bringing us the best viewer experience possible and to the hermit's bedt playing experience!

Thank you for this video X! I love seeing this technical side of how to maintain a server :D It gives me some more tools that I didn't know existed to keep my own worlds healthy and also extra options for making the vanilla aspects of the game more custom and refreshing without delving too much into mods w/ friends who are not mod-savvy. I'm excited for the rest of the videos keep it up!

I'm actually a huge IT nerd and I'm studying for sysadmin. I would actually love to hear about all the debian stuff!

Interesting video. Thanks for the quick list of the important mods. I generally run pure vanilla on my server, but getting some of those optimizing mods could likely really help things out. Coords finder and the silent mobs mods are also both technically non-vanilla things that I think all my players would be interested in as well since they don't really harm the vanilla experience other than not needing to mute mobs in certain areas.
