Didn't work. Loving how in 2023 we can't even get a basic save function done.

Refunding Bethesda should be paying me if I have to do all this for a basic save

The main issue is “OneDrive”. Once your pc has this, some files location is changed by it. And one of them is where save data suppose to go. My save problem is fixed but not in a good way. What i done is take everything in “OneDrive” folder out to last level, but it cleaned all icon on desk. Then i restore for a bit and the game is allowed me save. If you can make a right way to do plz.

To anyone having a similar problem with Xbox, My theory is that all Bethesda's games share space. Clearing my Fallout 4 local saves seems to have fixed my issue. No idea why they made it like that.

How can I recover my older save? I panicked and tried to overwrite the save onto a couple of different saves and now I have lost my current progress and my last 2/3 previous saves. Can something be done through a local save?

So this video came up when I was searching for “Starfield wont let me save game” - I would go to “save” in the menu and it was greyed out. If you beat the game and started NG+ just play like normal. It’s supposed to be like that(can’t say much without spoilers).

If none of the options work guys just create new user account in windows and play 😅, give it administrative privilege... Worked for me yesterday after breaking my head for all different solution.

So I fixed it :

In "mygames" create the folder "Starfield" and inside it the folder "Saves". And that's it Games\Starfield\Saves

Thanks for the video, my save is corrupt and I'm hoping its not beyond repair :( I am not playing on steam, I am playing through Xbox PC but I haven't been able to find a video that walks you through that process, only if you are playing on steam. When I click what I think is the exe file, it says I don't have permission to access it

I know a way to fix it. 100% working. (Not joking)

Please read fully.

I also faced this issue and i was quiet frustrated.

The main problem is One Drive.

To fix this.
1) Sign in to your one drive (if not sign in)
2) on the sync and backup option click on manage backup
3) Turn off the backup for the document folder( if ypu domt want risk then turn off all)

This will solve the problem.
It will work 100% trust me.
I have tried it after 100+ failed attempt
