Ok anyone who is struggling to budget that has a habit of impulse buying stuff you don’t need, here’s my tip:
Make a list of everything you think you need in the moment; put whatever it is you think you want on it and I promise when a week is up and you haven’t even thought about- you can ask yourself if you even really wanted it in the first place! It’s sooo easy to overspend with social media showing us soooo much stuff we don’t need or even want!
I have an eyeshadow palette on my list for months now and I only ever remember it when I go to update my "list"… also if people close to you ever ask what you want as a gift or bday present you’ll have a wish list of things you want they can pick from lol
The less you want, the more you have!

loved this! i’ve been slacking on budgeting lately so this was perfect timing. also, i recently separated my ‘debt’ category into ‘good’ and ‘bad’ debt to give myself a clearer picture. mortgage = good debt, everything else = bad. just a suggestion!

Just wanted to say: thank you. I just started my financial journey together with my husband a few months ago, because I noticed we were sort of struggling to make ends meet, while we both have quite a decent salary. Watching a lot of your videos has made me eager to deep dive into our expenses, set financial goals and work towards paying of certain debts a lot quicker than plannend.

Sending lots of love from the Netherlands for your (and your husbands!) openness regarding your financial situation!

Love watching you go over your budget and goals on this spreadsheet. I bought it a few months ago but I keep going back to paper budgeting. However, every time I watch your budgeting videos I go back to it and use it a bit more. Hopefully soon I’ll utilize it fully all the time. So thank you for the motivation 😊!

Thank you for introducing me to this spreadsheet. I got one from Smart Women Society and I like it but I LOVE how this is more automated. So you can minus from different savings accounts. That's what I wanted when I started my finance journey.

I loved this video ☺ it is indeed humbling to see the annual numbers for some expenses. I also took the time early this year to get an annual overview of my expenses because some stuff gets billed monthly, some quarterly, some yearly. Yeah, I was so shocked by some of the annual numbers and it was so not worth it to me that I canceled/quit a bunch of things 😀

I am planning some low spend months, but I am also traveling to a wedding and I’ll see friends I haven’t seen in months to years I’ll probably not be spending low during that trip. I just need to pull out the cash and cap it at that.

Hello! Thank you so much for this video - its a huge boost in restarting my productivity after a long time lull. I am realizing I have 6 whole months to turn my crummy year around!
I do have a question - is there a reason you use Google Sheets to track your goals and not a tool like Notion? I personally love the software and it helps me stay on top of everything in my life. I think you're the only youtuber I know doing their own way of progress-tracking (which is totally fine! I'm just curious 🙂)

Loved this video!

Do you have any cleaner recommendations in Adelaide? (We are looking to get the same sort of deep-cleaning service like you described)

Could you make a video about setting up/using the budget spreadsheet? I've purchased it, and am on my third month but keep encountering problems. How do I account for what money is already in your account prior to starting a month? I had money in a sinking fund that needed to get spent. But when I take it out it puts the spreadsheet into a negative amount. Not sure if that makes sense and it is maybe something that you can make a video with tips about. thanks
