Joe is actually worse than Al. Al has a facade that makes him seem like a gentlemen where in reality he's a predator, but Joe's just a predator defending and sleazy drunk coward who doesn't even view Cassie as a living being and just a disposable object. Say what you will about everyone else, but imo Joe is the most hateable character in the movie.

the way the movie becomes this absurd comedy after cassie dies until her plan unfolds, showcasing how fucking bizarre and out of touch these men are, so wrapped up in themselves they don't have any understanding of the humanity of the women they hurt and the gravity of their actions, how ungrounded and unserious it all is from their perspective. This tone shift was as brilliant a twist to me as Ryan's complicity

Emerald is clearly a Veronica Mars fan!
This has so much of Veronica Mars’isms in it!
The rape, the accusations and the two actors here who both played Veronica Mars’ boyfriends who were both the nicest Good guys your parents dream of!
The Max (dark haired guy) played Leo who was the good guy boyfriend of Veronica’s in high school and was a the young deputy in the Sheriffs office and became a Detective when she sees him again in the film.
Chris (blonde, murderer) played the lovely good guy boyfriend Piz when Veronica went to Uni and in the film.
Looks like a well produced and acted film.

It's disgusting and immoral when you consider that marriage is actually a holy matrimony.

I think it's ironic that Joe jumps to "You did nothing wrong" without knowing the circumstances. Because technically, Al really didn't do anything wrong by killing Cassie. It was purely self-defense. But it doesn't even matter that it was justified because it was always going to be excused, no matter what.
