I could listen to Kush talk all day. What a great addition to Sorted.

“All I wanted was to be happy”. Bravo. May we all encourage our kids to have the same aspiration in their working lives.

Mike's so solid in an interview setting. Love his curiosity and the way he lays a foundation for a question. Easy to see him having been a great teacher in the past. And fuck oath, Kush has led an interesting life, what a lad.

Barely into the Podcast and Kush is all "I want to feed my child my cooking" and it hit like a truck. Food is such an important thing to human culture across the board, and it's one of the things I pay special attention to. Nothing was more human than Kush looking forward to that experience.

Unleash the Kush more often. His knowledge is boundless, so I say a cooking with Kush series is chronically needed.

As a physician I can 100% relate to what Kush is saying about being down because of the environment in the kitchen. While in medical school, or more so residency, you're just expected to perform at peak with no mistakes with exceptionally long hours (sometimes 30+ at a time). You certainly hear it when you don't do well but there isn't much of a positive feedback loop when you're doing well. It can be crushing and I've taken that experience with the students and residents that I teach to make sure they understand when they are doing both bad or good. Everyone needs that. Kush, you've been wonderful to watch. Thank you for being candid about your experiences. I have no doubt it will be beneficial to others.

Ebber's little "Not that one" when Kush is asked about a story of Ben is so good lmao

I really appreciate you guys continuing to post the podcasts like this on youtube! I never cared to get into any with spotify, or apple, or whatnot, but discussions like this with the small amount of people I follow are so great to listen to.

I have been following the guys since the beginning- was gutted when James left, and although I was reluctant to like Kush (because it felt like a betrayal), he is just so great that he wins you over. Genuinely cool guy and wonderful chef. I will always be partial to Ebbers as my favorite chef- but Kush is right up there too 😊

"Replacing"James was such a tall order and Kush 100% lived up. I've been watching sorted since 2018 and was so sad James left, but introducing Kush bit by bit and letting him become his own personality was amazing. 10/10 from both, always excited for any video either are in!

Listening to Kush talk about struggling in the kitchen and how the head chef took him aside and gave him that support is so heartwarming. Shows how much even one person being supportive and empathetic can make such a huge impact.
Glad the right person overheard and it panned out like that

didnt think kush could become a more likeable guy than he already was but here you go.
huge respect for staying open to change and value being happy more than the number of michelin stars.
also thanks gor settling down so we can 'keep' you. what a history.

I used to run out of West End Central Police Station in Savile Row over Covid, and Benares were extremely good to us. They gave us free takeaway meals for doing our job whilst the rest of London was in lockdown, along with all other emergency services.

What a small world knowing that Kush was behind that!

It was bloody delicious as well, I still fondly remember that biriyani.

This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen for ages. It had all the highs and lows of working in a kitchen. Thanks for being so open and honest Kush 👍👍
