I have MS and am a medical professional. I know how hard it is to understand our mental health when you have an autoimmune disease and all that comes with that. I hope telling you about my recent experiences will help you.

What a courageous video. I too have an incurable medical condition diagnosed at the same time as yours . I can absolutely relate to the mental health problem you have experienced. Like you, I find it difficult to pin down the reason for having tipped down. I questioned what good I was doing. I was now just a burden on society. I felt there was nothing to live for. It was also partly the side effects of the therapy I was having. And it was worsened by the pandemic. Another side effect is chronic fatigue which is a real downer. A number of things have helped me:- talking to fellow sufferers in a supervised group at hospital (until stopped by corona virus); finding a fellow sufferer of my age with a great sense of humour who is a real friend; doing something creative; accepting my lot (what will be, will be); living for the day. Unlike you I suspect, I am lucky enough to have a wonderful partner to live for, a wife who motivates me, looks on the positive side. I realise that she she is only human and that if I am gloomy the whole time, she will become gloomy too. That would do nobody any good.
