Harbor Freight Doyle Stubby Screw Drivers Review

These are harbor freight's premium stubby screwdrivers. they went for a Klein knock off which is think is in error because they are hard to grip and turn in tight spaces although they seem like nice build quality and are pretty cheap.

I bought these a few weeks ago to complete my new set of Klein screwdrivers since they didn’t include a set of stubbies. I have to say, they’re really close in feel. If the Doyle’s were yellow acetate with Klein written on the handle, I don’t think anyone would notice the difference. These should work just fine. They’re also made in a Taiwan, not China. 👍🏻

Maybe you should try the bigger set! I think they can be a good alternative to the expensive kleins!

I really loved the old Pittsburgh (I think) dark grey drivers that came free with any purchase. They had square handles that fit the hand nicely and transferred lots of torque.
Never seen any since I got my set 10 years ago, but I love the ones I still have!

The reason I bought these was because I needed a stubby flathead with a slim, not flared head. I almost bought the Klein set but this was more affordable. They been working well so far.

If they were electrician's screwdrivers, then there would be insulation down the shaft all the way to the tip section, plus usually a flare at the bottom of the handle to stop your fingers slipping to the shaft. And probably a VDE or equivalent standards organisation marking.

Those doyles look the same as the husky diamond tip screwdrivers but the tips are different

Great review! I have wondered if the Doyle brand was better than Pittsburgh

Why don't they do something right and just source their Klein knockoffs from Pratt Reed instead of overseas?
P-R already makes em in red too.

2 or $5, I would say it is near perfect.

Man all you do is complain about harbor freight. Why go there? I've never had a problem with their tools.

The good thing about the doyle is if you don't like the rubber overmold just fricking cut it off. It's a low torque screwdriver for crying out loud. You say it's a klein knockoff but Klein didn't originate that design?? No tool has a monopoly on a design and if you think they do today just wait until tomorrow. China determines that.
