One of the most heartbreaking storylines in the show was given an extra layer of authenticity by actress Courtney Cox, who played Monica. Monica and Chandler’s troubles conceiving a child led to the couple choosing to adopt, but the storyline was given added weight by the fact that Courtney Cox had herself experienced fertility problems with her husband David Arquette. Like her character on-screen, Cox happily experienced the birth of her first child in 2004. She went on to say, “I had a lot of miscarriages, and I don’t think it’s something that people shouldn’t talk about, because…it’s unfortunate, but it happens.”

I also had many miscarriages around the same time and finally gave birth to a son in 2005. Everyone in my family are fertile Myrtle bt I think my struggles for my son make him all the more important and special. He just turned 18!!!!
