Askaryan Radio Array in Antarctica is beginning to drill holes to implant antennas. Scientists run a probe the length of the hole to make sure it is clear of ice. The two scientists are Perry Sandstorm, the one with the bigger goggles, and Albrecht Karle. Perry is an engineer at WIPAC, he works both in IceCube and ARA. Albrecht, Prof. at UW-Madison and currently Chair of the Department of Physics, is the PI of ARA.
