We have such similar taste. I'm so excited to grow some gomphrena and zinnias as well! Right now I have a beautiful creamy white sunflower growing, still going strong here in Florida. Which was an experiment, I had started those sunflowers seeds Sept 29th! They bloomed less than 60 days later and I still have blooms going which is amazing to me!

I'm excited to try gomphrena next year. I just got some seeds. I dried strawflowers this year and LOVED It.

I love zinnias! They're so easy to grow and just gorgeous. I usually go for bright, vibrant colors, but lately I've been enchanted with the queen lime series. Now I've got all of them in my collection - queen lime, queen lime orange, queen lime blush, and queen lime red - so I'm excited to grow a patch of these together. I just saw that Johnny's has queen lime peach coming in April so I'll probably add those too. 😄 Another flower I love is the strawflower. There are some striking colors available. It's supposed to dry really well so it might be a nice pairing with gomphrena (that's one I just got turned onto this year and picked up some seeds).

Loved how you decorated the Christmas tree with the cut flowers it’s beautiful. My Zinnia was a show stopper as well and I had the same issue as you putting it in the raised bed, it was tall as a sunflower. I’m definitely growing Zinnias next year it adds great colour to the garden.

I plan on growing lots of zinnias and sunflowers too. My husband loves to grow the mammoth sunflowers and I like a lot of the smaller varieties. I collected a lot of the queen lime red zinnia seeds, so I'm excited to see if I can get them to grow from my own seed. I collected seed from my gerbera daisies too, so I'm going to try them this year!

Here in South Africa we're heading towards summer. First time trying out flowers, currently growing zinnias and marigolds from seeds.

I laughed so hard at that last comment! I’m a fairly new gardener myself. 2nd year and still struggling to figure out most of it. I’m near Tuscaloosa, Alabama in zone 8b so we typically don’t have long, cold winters. In fact, it’ll be back up in the 70’s next week and I’ll be starting spring seeds in a few weeks. I’ve spent most of the last 2 winters drawing out detailed plans for my gardens. I mean, ELABORATE details. Do you know how many of them I’ve actually used? Zero!!! 😂
