OneDrive processing changes infinite loop

OneDrive keeps processing changes in an infinite loop, it never finishes.

I've tried all the possible fixes I've found online like, for example, re-installing OneDrive, using the reset tool, and re-downloading/re-syncing all my files.

I'm using macOS Mojave 10.14.2 and OneDrive 18.214.1021.0013. I'm syncing my files to an external hard drive formatted with the exFAT filesystem.

Any ideas?

I'm having this problem too. I suspect it has something to do with the drive being exFAT
