I've been stung by The Devils Snot, aka-man o war, as a kid in Vero Beach. It attached to my entire right arm up to my shoulder. Ive caught a 4 foot long Humboldt squid on a rod and reel. Ive caught much much larger fish but this was the hardest fight ive ever experienced. The strength of that animal was incredible. It was released unharmed.
