Excerpt from President Russell M Nelson's invitation to focus on Gratitude, though it was an invitation for a time, the conditions - other than a present-day medical pandemic as I post this - of strife, conflict, hard feelings and discouragement still exist and can be positively impacted by individual focus on actively engaging in expressions and actions of gratitude.

Posted a couple of weeks before Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend 2024, it seems like a good time to once again count my blessings, reflect on the many things I am grateful for, and exercise my gratitude muscles.

“...there is a truism associated with all types of human strength: “Use it or lose it.” When not used, muscles weaken, skills deteriorate, and faith disappears. President Thomas S. Monson stated: “Think to thank. In these three words are the finest capsule course for a happy marriage, a formula for enduring friendship, and a pattern for personal happiness.” (Pathways to Perfection, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1973, p. 254.) Question: President Monson suggests that we should "think to thank." How can we cultivate a habit of actively seeking opportunities for gratitude in our daily lives, and what impact might this have on our relationships, faith, and overall well-being?

I am a strong advocate of "Tiny Habits" the work of Dr. B.J. Fogg building Tiny Habits that support the development of an attitude of gratitude.

One for me follows the Tiny Habit Recipe:
After I see a person's name tag (gas station/Fast food outlet, checking in at the hotel, etc.), I will use their name and thank them for their help by name.
