Ive been a painting contractor for 25 years. This is average work which really is all you need to have. Drywall and painting is an art. Thats not your formula. Reading these comments Im cracking up because half dont even know what the hell they are talkin about. These are easy average fixes for your average homeowner-handyman and they aren't horrible. Would I do it differently? You bet. All I do is that but your average handyman is like a good general practitioner not a surgeon. Keep up the good work.

You’re the best dude, gonna save people a LOT in getting deposits back. And to think he does this for free? Just to benefit his viewers? You’re a saint

Dude, there is a tape sold at Lowes called fibatape that isn't mesh like that.. It's actually a fiberglass tape that looks similar to a waterproofing membrane before its coated in waterproofing.. It works better than any other tape I've ever used for repairs like that.. Every person I've shown it to never uses mesh tape again.. It doesn't have adhesive like the mesh tape but just a really thin coat of mud under it (kinda like paper tape applications) then put the tape on and work it down with your mud knife, then a thin layer over the top and you're golden 🤙 best part about it is if you sand into it, it sands down like the mud.. Whereas the mesh tape will show if you sand into it.. I love it and most others do as well once they try it

You should cut the crack out like a V because the tape blisters when it cracks so before you mesh tape just thump the tape slightly and you will hear the difference from thumping directly on the crack and just to the side. So eventually if you don't cut out the blister it will crack again no matter how many screws you use. 20 yrs experience talking here

I love showing this stuff to my dad. A professional painter, went to trade school, painted in a union for about 35 years, sports arenas, skyscrapers, houses, everywhere. He just thinks it’s hilarious. Thanks for giving him a good laugh!

The patching is not new to me but, the texture in a bag is cool. Normally i mix a small amount for my hooper and take 40 minutes to get it clean. Nice for small popcorn repairs. Thanks

20 minute means it starts to chemically harden at 20 minutes but dry time is dependent on how thick it is applied. You can finish quickly but will likely show visuable shrinkage once fully dried😊

Have you ever mixed plaster of Paris, compound and water? Makes a good, hard patch. Great job-your videos are spot on the correct fix!

You’re a boss man. I tried that heavy duty mesh tape recently and it had so many little strings coming off of it and sticking out of my mud

Thought you were getting rid of the crack not ensuring a callback.
Cut that out a bit, use paper tape, mix pva glue in with your mud, it will help it adhere to the old paint.
