I was about to say I can still see the crack… then I realized the crack in my screen protector was lined up perfectly with his repair 🤦

Put holes in either end of the crack to stopnit cracking further and wet out the crack with a paint brush to clear out any debris and help the filler stick to the crack.

My dad was a plasterer and working with him i learned to plaster as well but i only do plastering for myself and close friends.
If you have bought a good trowel in the past (rectangle with a handle on it) you don't need to buy the filler knives, as long as it has a good edge it will do a good job.
Saves having to buy new tools for each job if you can buy tools that can apply to more than one job.

Well that's damn good timing. I've been in a new build and after 2 years here I've got a bunch of hairline cracks and tape shrinkage I was planning on tackling this weekend!

Charli I always follow and enjoy your videos as they are so informative and concise.
I have over 25 years experience and I honestly have to say neVer use easi fill as it cracks so quickly as it’s too weak.
I would use a stronger powder filler.
Keep up the good work though…😊🙏🏻

Spot on! This is the best way to fill cracks in plaster! I like the idea of using a bradawl.

That’s brilliant! I’ve been adding filler to water for both large and small batches. But always get it wrong with the smaller mixes. That makes way more sense adding the water to filler when it’s just a small mix. Thanks!

Little tip, paint some diluted PVA in the crack before filling.

I prefer to leave flush and fill twice so there’s no sanding. Customers appreciate it too

You can get a pack of those brilliant filler knives (which are also useful for scraping/smoothing down wood and flat areas of paintwork) at Poundland and similar shops. Whether or not they're still just £1, with everything rising in price, I'm not so sure.. ;-)

I make the crack bigger and deeper and fill it with bonding then a coat of filler on top, then sand down and paint.

Great guide.

Fixing the boards (screw or expanding foam) and taping them will stop that coming back in 6 months.

I’d recommend trying Red Devil onetime filler

Get some foam in there to bond the sheets! Soudal do a nice easy tin. That'll glue the substrate and prevent it cracking.

Superb! Thanks Charlie. Best thing I've learnt recently is to pour filler on to an old plastic paint tub lid and mix using a squeezy bottle.

Your voice reminds me of Keith Floyd, (floyd on food). You could also try a glass of red between each step for maximum results 😊
