sure replace your observables hell with hook-effect-state hell. in a few years when something shinier comes along you can do it all over again! fun. personally I'm tired of refactoring code every time yet another framework drops or is upgraded. I've moved over to Web Components.

I've got a huge knockoutjs application with hundreds of pages etc which I actively develop, alongside a lot of react. It has 10, 000's of users.
I do write however in a modern style using ES6, typescript, classes etc so it feels a lot like something more modern.
The thing I like about it is a bit like jQuery, it's stable, can be dropped into any website without uprooting the whole thing, but yeah I'm not starting anything new in it
