It charges phones without cases but when a case is added it varies, probably by case thickness. I have a BodyGuardz case on my iPhone and although the charger connects through the case it doesn't charge very well. My phone was at 76% and an hour later on the Mag Safe it was at 77%. I plugged the phone in and it was to 100% in short order. I'm returning the MagSafe and will use the 20w plug with a Lightning and USB-C connector charge wire instead. I am not going to try to figure out which case it works with or doesn't work with.

Helpful as I just bought the iPhone 12. Ugh, I think it's ridiculous we have to go buy it. Not fair, but suckered into buying it. No other choice.

Wish it was not magnetic. I bought it so that i could just place it there and pick up easily without having to disconnect the cable as it took extra time but instead what i got? I have to now disconnect that magnetic piece everytime. The irony 😅
