A real DJ doesn't need this. Definitely.

This is quite literally EVERYTHING that I wanted Serato Studio to be. Its wayyy more intuitive and super user friendly

For preparing a playlist for the set, there's also the editing part but I use FL Studio for that which also has stems separation. I'm not the type to say that you're not a DJ if you use sync, or if you don't mix on vinyl, or whatever, but if you let a software do everything, what do you do? I mean it's ok, if that's what you like to do but being a DJ means manipulating the music in real time in one way or another that gives a blend between the songs! Yes, it has some creative stuff in it, but I wouldn't do a whole set in the program because what else would I do? 😁

I agree with some comments, it doesn't replace the DJing but it's an excellent tool to make mashups and play them at sets. This will make them uniques and authentics, people will ask about the track and you will be the only one who have it!

Thanks for this video, I’ve actually had this with the stems for a while now but just didn’t know where to get started to create a mashup. The automix is very easy to understand but I couldn’t get my head around getting rid of the transition window if i was creating a mashup.

Now its time for me to say goodbye to Mashup 2.5 (no stems) and hello again to Dj. Studio

This is actually one of the best explanations of how to get started with this thanks again

I bought this software a while back and have been sitting on the fence about installing and experimenting with it. You finally gave me the inspiration to do so. Great demo. Thank you for sharing

Great review! I was an earlier adopter and the software had just got better and better. To start with I was using it to create full mixes but as you say the automix feature to craft a set you then perform is so useful. I have recently started making more edits with it and it’s saving me so much time.
Also I must big up the company. They provide almost daily updates and their customer service and support are first class. For example early adopters were given the stems and the new FX expansions free of charge.
I’m sure they’ll be loads of “they took our jobs” style reaction to this but for me, it’s become a part of my workflow.

I absolutely love this program and its has honestly taught me a lot about the mechanics of my transitions. When I first got into DJ Studio and just goofing off my mixes had a lot more going on, but the more I've used it I see how and where a simple fade does the trick or where getting more involved with the EQ work can make a difference. But mostly when I put that first hour long set together it sounded so freakin good it just made me want to make more. It is a great tool in and of itself and the things I've learned using it have actually vastly improved my mixing techniques on traditional equipment as well. The folks who make the software are also very nice, communicate with you directly, and clearly take great pride in the work they do.🌟🌟🌟

Go DJ! 🙌🔥🎶

I’ll put it to you like this…the time it will take you to click around you would have already completed a 45 min dj set

I just did a 60 song mix in less than an hour, tweaking every song and transition. It set up a pretty solid base to start from. I can use that when I need to take a break when at a gig. I also make my own mixes for the car and trim out some of the slower parts of house tracks to keep the beat pumping. Its so fast and easy to do. I have a stand alone mixer (Denon Prime 4 +) and I keep a pre-mixed set for things like when you do announcements at a wedding and want some music in the background. There is still plenty of "DJ stuff" you can do if you play with a pre-mix. Gives you more time to do live samples and effects and not worry about missing a track end and risking dead air.

I'm not a pro anymore. I’m almost 50 and I started in the early '90s with modified cassette decks. Imagine having to fast-forward or rewind to find the track you want. It was awesome! Over the years I've used 1200s and CDJs, and the fun has been always guaranteed. DJ fun is contagius to the audience.

What this software does, I started doing back in 1997 with Sound Forge, doing challenging highly detailed editing. It was difficult back then, and now it’s very easy, but it was never and will never be fun.

Preparing a track that would otherwise be very difficult to mix is OK, but for that, you don’t need to spend that much. There has always been the option of playing pre-produced sets, this is nothing new. but it will never be well-regarded by someone who enjoys and respects DJing.

From a Latino perspective, this has been insanely useful for some genres of songs that are SO hard to mix live but that you absolutely need to transition properly if you don't want to lose 1/2 of your dancefloor. Namely Norteños and Rancheras. They musical make up of them make seemless transitions very difficult and was always unnecessarily stressful. This tool has made that genre such a breeze to get in and out of. Ultimately as a mobile DJ my goal is to make my couples and dancers happy, not make my life more difficult because of some other DJ's opinion.

I don't have a spare 200$ CAD to shell out for Pro+Stems, however I'm TOTALLY sold by this demo. This opens so many doors, it's crazy. ALL RIGHT, off to my wishlist you go! 😂

great video with a new perspective on the tool! This is great to help you order songs and to check how they sound together and which transition is best.
And one great side effect: You can export stems like Vocals, modify them to have a custom dj tool.
Of course DJing is like playing an instrument so do everything pre recorded is not fun from my point of view. but that‘s matter of perspective.
