S25 Ultra vs iPhone 16 Pro Max Camera Test

Samsung just recently announced the Galaxy S25 Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone that's designed to compete with the iPhone. We did a hands-on video last week, but this week we're back with an in-depth camera comparison.

In this video, we've included blind photos from the S25 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max so you can judge for yourself which smartphone camera you prefer, but we'll let you know which is which at the very end of the video.

I liked camera B because the photos seemed more "natural" and a little less processed. I liked camera B raw audio from that test.

Surprisingly, I went with the S25 on the log footage. They look so much better. With photos it was the iPhone on 75% of the occasions. The S25 seems to hate shadows

B is better and I'm surprised by that. 17 has to step up it's game for photos.

Camera B is much better, especially for zoom and log. Not so much for the night portrait though.

The microphone quality of the S25 Ultra was astonishingly good! It sounded like a well-mixed sound clip.

I liked camera A because I like saturated pictures. I was really expecting that to be the Galaxy.
Camera A sounded pony in the very first test, but the sound isolation test was incredible. Camera B fell to bits there.

I could tell right away that the B was the Galaxy because of the camera color and the difference in detail in the zoom. The Galaxy is much better in photos with natural camera color, and the videos seem similar now

Considering the S25 Ultra hasn't even been released in my country, I'm hoping updates will improve the camera dramatically.

I swayed more towards B. This was as the video played at a glance, didn’t stop to look more in depth between them

I was surprised! I thought camera B was the iPhone. It seems like camera B showed more detail on your skin and facial hair in the beginning of the video so I just figured it was the iPhone 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was actually 50/50, depending on the shot. There were photos that I thought one did better than the other, but it wasn't consistent across the board.

Wow... I have to say that, though I see some slight differences... I really don't see many bad pics in the lot. If you didn't have them side-by-side, I think you'd have zero issue with either of these cameras 99.9% of the time.

Camera B was iphone until the zoom 😂 😅 Sam is doing good without 1 single update.

Did I miss something? Why not take pictures at their max pixel setting instead of the default? Take a full frame of an impressionist painting at the Legion of Honor Museum. Show the full frame of the painting, then pinch zoom-in to small portion to see the brush stroke details. 48M max vs. 200M, the difference would be quite revealing.
