Craig Ward is a British born, New York based typographer - albeit an unconventional one. Since graduating in 2003 he worked in a handful of advertising agencies before going on to found his collaborative studio, Words are Pictures, in 2009. From his early work with letterpress and moveable type, he has gone on to work in all manner of mediums including ferrofluid, cells, light and falling silk amongst others, all in the pursuit of communication.

About TEDx: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Amazing presentation, production. It's really frustrating when you can't see what the speaker is talking about, especially when he's as engaging as Craig is here.
