This is a fine recipe and I am a collard snob. Taught by an 88 year old African American man. Never could duplicate but this is close!

Your term is “liquid gold”……the old folks in my fam called it “pot liquor”‼️ But I love to freeze that broth and have it on hand when it gets really cold outside here in STL. Makes you feel brand new‼️ you make me wanna get up and make some collard OMG this looks so

Might as well do a single video with the cornbread, sweet potatoes, dressing, turkey, baked macaroni, sweet potato pie, banana pudding. Lol, collard greens looking really good! Love your channel! Made my husband the cowboy beans some time ago after watching your video. He loved it!

Just made this and it turned out great! Liquid gold slapped! Greens seasoned perfect and I didn’t even want hot sauce. Got my house smelling too good!Thank you!!!!

One thing I do is take those stems and chop them into small inch size pieces and put them in the pot at the beginning with all the other veggies. They will cook longer, release more flavor, and less waste! Lots of nutrients! And yes, that liquid gold AKA Pot Liquor is the BUSINESS! Any really good collard greens will have the BOMB Pot Liquor! All in All, this was a Fantastic recipe!

Looking good!!! 👍 My husband and I love greens: collard, mustard, turnip, even kale and spinach!!! He has to have cornbread to sop up the pot liquor! 😆 Thanks for the recipe! 😋 I use smoked ham hocks most of the time, but smoked turkey works just as well. Also, when I wash my greens, I lift them from the water, so all the dirt and residue is left floating in the bottom. Then I pour out the dirty water and rinse again. I do that about 3 or 4 times, until the water is clear.

Looks great! I like bacon and or ham-hocks with mine, but hey, we all do it our own way. One thing I'd like to see, is your take on, cornish hens. Myh wife does them beautifully, just wondering how you do them just to change it up a bit. Cheers brother. Thanks for the vid my friend.

Oh and one other thing….when washing the greens 🥬, my mom would shake salt 🧂 into the water. I asked her “Mom, why are you doing that❓” She said the salt 🧂 helps to pull and loosen the dirt grit off the 🥬‼️ I was like 🤣🤣🤣
