Another tip is to only use positives, for example, instead of saying "I'm *not* going to let my room get dirty", say "I'm *going* to clean my room". Or instead of saying "I'm *not* going to leave my homework till tomorrow" say "I'm *going* to do my homework tonight". This automatically puts your mind into a positive mindset. You're brain also tends to ignore negative words, so when you say "I'm *not* going to let my room get dirty", your brain hears "I'm going to let my room get dirty". It's like when you tell a child "dont do that", they just hear "do that". If you want a child to not touch something, you have to say "stay away from that" instead of "don't touch that". Hope that makes sense :)

I like the "Today is going to be a great day, " affirmation when waking up idea; I'll try that, and continue making my bed. I heard about talking to water or food or plants to help them, but I never thought about then drinking the water to help you; I'll try that, but I don't really know how I feel about meditation. Meditation just seems like a way to concentrate on breathing and relax, but I can just lie down to relax and focus on my breathing whenever it feels necessary, so I don't think I need to meditate.
