time attack is so you won't have some clown smash into your project car you worked years 2 build... racing without contact

Fun video, but not very informative. More of a vlog and less like a guide to get into racing. You mentioned a couple different options including karting to work your way onto the track but the majority of the video was comprised of you passing noobs on the track. I would be really interested if you made an ACTUAL guide as to how to introduce yourself into racing and the best way to immerse yourself in it, but you already knew what you were doing and skipped many of the things that people would be concerned about.

For me, as someone who has no racing experience, I would LOVE time attack. No one on the track, constantly improving and trying new things, everything is under my control. I can push myself exactly how hard I want to and no outside forces can mess with me. Sure, moving to regular racing would be the goal, but improving your time and getting more consistent at the track is always nice, especially when things go wrong and you need to react.

As someone who drives intermediate in a stock motor miata, I can confirm it is terrifying. Especially on a fast track like VIR.

I love how he tells us how important tire pressures are. Yet explains none of it

Time attack is still wheel to wheel racing, just without the contact and cost. Its not about focusing on a car next to you, but how fast you can drive giving 100% focus to the car and the road. If you crash its on you and not a frustration from someone going too hard to keep up with you

well.... i think the guys who drive time attacks dont want to get their cars fucked. I can imagine it does suck to pay a lot of money on a car which can be destroyed in only one race.

The red BMW M4 is not a Time Attack car its specifically prepared for endurance racing and the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

That’s my hometown! Buttonwillow doesn’t have much at all but it has the raceway!

Step One: Go to college, study a major that will make you fuck tons of money.

Step Two: Get a job paying at least 75K. Hopefully you aren't an idiot and landed a couple internships while in school.

Step Three: Make sure you haven't done any of the following: A. Had kids. B. Bought a house. C. Gotten into any sort of long term financial commitments.

Step Four: Sink everything into a fast car.

Step Five: Eat shitt to save money for tunes, upgrades, and track days.

Step Six: Obsess over nicer cars and constantly upgrade.

I think people enjoy time attack because we like racing ourselves. You always have a record to push for

Time attack is for people who a. Are bad with on track battles b. Can't afford to fix there car if it gets crashed by some random person hitting you

I want to get into dirt track. My uncle bucko used to build the cars. He passed when I was too young to really get to know him but the family left the game when he passed. It seems like something I should do for his memory

Really want to get into trackdays but terrified my Mk1 TT will actually blow itself up after that much of a workout. The hardest she’s been run is predawn mountain runs of about 30 minutes of very spirited driving and then rest before heading back down to boring roads and reality.

I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I've had a few things holding me back. Mostly the cost, I only own the one car, if anything went wrong I'd be screwed. One day.

You guys should get back to this kind of stuff. Why drag engines explode is cool and all, but learning how and where to race is far more entertaining IMO.
