Hey guys, Romain here with a quick guide to molding your professional racing career. I wish I come out and say the process is easy and straightforward but in reality, it is a very costly sport. In this video, I break down all the stages of a professional racing driver's career but I also explain the advantage of sim racing and the unique opportunities available in the esports genre. Let me know if you guys want to hear more or have any questions down below in the comments.

This is why I'm thankful Sim racing exists. Yeah I missed out my chance at being a race car driver, yeah I'm working everyday to feed my family, but at least during my free time, I can "virtually" race cars and achieve a piece of my childhood dream.

As Jacques Villeneuve pointed out in his Beyond the Grid episode, you have zero chances of becoming a driver if you don't start young and have tons of money. It's just not how it works anymore. You can even see that the ages of the drivers are much less than they were 30 years ago. Eventually Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton will retire and the latter grids will only be consisted of drivers in their early to mid 20s. And that's not just F1.

One thing I would like to point out for everyone who's trying to start their racing career, there's not only F1, if you manage to get to F2 or get the FIA Super License, you don't need to wait for a seat to be available, you can go to IndyCar in the US which is also a Open-Wheel, you can go to DTM in the Europe to sharpen your skills, you can go to Super Formula in Japan, you can even try going for V8 Supercars in Australia or Stock Car Brazil, but just like Grosjean said, never give up, go out there, keep racing and keep having fun in the track, do everything you can to keep racing, you are more than capable of getting where you want

I got to do a track day at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the Roval in a GT350. Top speed was 133 mph on the banking. After eight laps I could feel my arms getting tired. I can't imagine how an IndyCar driver feels after a race. Much respect!

My son is doing really well in karting in the UK. It is so expensive. We have the oldest kart and the youngest driver on the grid. We run in the top 3 now, on zero budget.
Difficult to get sponsors :(

This is great advice not only for motorsports but for life in general. Work hard, knock on doors, and preserve your passion for whatever you are doing! ❤

in f1 its all about money .mazespin who nobody would trust as their uber driver and who was causing problems in f2 was in f1 and didn't get cut even when he was threatening to tell daddy not to send the money . even when steiner told him to be polite with his engineers he said "do you want me to be a pussy?"
well as soon as daddy couldn't send the money steiner didn't waste a second to sack him. and don't forget that mazespin took grosjean's seat who was one of the most fun to watch and a top driver

Even esports is costly if one wants to advance from gaming controller to actual simulator but certainly a fraction of the cost of karting et al.
