So let me get this right. Two of her kids made a special trip from other states just to meet her at that place to do a 20/25 minute zip line. And that's all they have in common to do?

Thank you, Judge Judy for applying common sense and demonstrating that a customer doesn’t have the option of not paying just because they didn’t confirm beforehand about the amenities. I liked that JJ showed up this entitled woman and her spoiled children.

As a cabin owner myself, I'm glad Judge Judy made the right call. This type of defendant is very real unfortunately.

100% Judge Judy was right on this.
However if you have a rental like this it’s common to have a folder of what to do and where to go in the surrounding area, but certainly not up to these owners to compensate for the closure of the zip line 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lol typical Karen. “Zip lining is closed so we are going to leave and I want my money back for the cabin I already paid for” what an entitled individual.

Her kids must hate her to not want to spend actual time alone with her 😂😂😂

The entitlement mentality is strong in this one.
The utter gall to not contact the property owner, who by the way is not the owner nor is affiliated with the zip lining company, to just dispute payment, is the height of arrogance.
In a perfect world, the property owner would also be awarded punitive damages if anything to send a message that this kind of elitist behavior will not go unpunished.

The cabin owners don’t have responsibility for Zip-lining…
So, no refund for cabin

my biggest question is why did the bank just arbitrarily return the funds to the defendant. When I had a business and people disputed a charge, the issuing bank would contact me and get my side of the story. In the 30 plus times it happened, only once did the bank reverse the charges. That person I took to small claims court and got a favorable judgment due to my documented proof of negligence on the customer's part. Unfortunately the customer filed bankruptcy so I only got 25 cents on the dollar. but it was more the principle of the situation.

The children didn’t come to see their Mom-they came to ZipLine. So when it was closed they figured they didn’t want to hang with Mom and they went back home.

She probably told a whole different story to the bank. There is no way the bank just do a charge back without any evidence (which they apparently did in this case). I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get a charge back on something that I ordered and was never delivered.

It's like an ad for a hotel said close to universal. Booked the hotel for days and it rained heavily for those two days. They leave the hotel the 3 day because it's still raining and ask the hotel for a refund because they should have known it would rain.

If you can't afford to stay somewhere, don't go. Stop pulling the "I'm entitled" and unhappy, give me my money back. It's the epitome of cheap.

I was hoping Judge Judy would use the classic words of wisdom on the defendant - "you ate the steak, you have to pay for it" (wouldn't matter what JJ said the defendant is as thick as a rain forest).

What a sad commentary on her family members. "Hi, mom. What? The zip line company is closed because of Covid. Nah, I'm outta here. I only came for the zip line. I didn't come to spend time with family." Pretty sad.

Judge Judy hammers another obvious case down. We used to go on vacations in the NY Adirondacks beginning in the 1950’s. The brochures showed Snow but we went there in July & August. Did we expect to see Snow……NO. However there was boating, swimming, hiking, climbing mountains, taking tours, going to dinner with my parents and relatives, hayrides, going to the movies at a vintage theater, going up to the land fill after dark to watch the Bears eating garbage, going to Lake Placid to see that place, taking a seaplane ride over the Lakes, riding the chair lifts up to the top of the mountains, building a fire in the fireplace and just sitting around enjoying each other’s company, taking a Canoe ride on the lake, Souvenir shopping…whatever.
My point here is that there are many many other things you can do which just happen to be not only enjoyable but they are also FREE and you will take home wonderful memories.
One of my most fond memories of the Adirondacks is waking up EVERY morning to the smell of Pine Trees all around where we stayed.

The defendant is off her rocker! I can't believe she had her bank refund her. Insane

Wow that’s just to much to remember to call everyone you need to check that everything is working. But if all you wanted to do is zip line. I think every state has zip line 😂. I love Judge Judy she always hits the nail on the head
