I had this happen to me. We rented to own and my husband, a professional builder, did quite a bit of repair, remodeling and upgrading, including putting on a new roof. The owner then decided he wanted more money because the house looked so much better. We went to court and I lost because the owner lied. My first experience with lying under oath. I was so disappointed and shocked. I’ve never upgraded anything since then, and I am an owner now.
