Bafang firmware update/ Error 30 fix/Error 7 fix BBSHD BBS02

Video explaining how to update/flash your Bafang controller firmware. This process can be used to fix the error 30 code, unlock your controllers, and switch from 52v to 48v or vice versa. Flashing the firmware may also fix the error 7 code.

I have a 7% discrepancy between a fully charged battery at 54.6 volts and what the display shows (93%). I would never attempt this FW update so I just add 7% to whatever my display says....I also have a voltmeter directly across the battery. There are too many horror stories associated with Bafang FW updates...be careful and be ready to brick it if you attempt this.

The MCU in your video is an IAP15W4K61S4, however the default MCU in the downloaded software (V6.87) is an IAP15F2K61S2. I found the one you had loaded in your video in the STC15W32S4 Series folder under MCU Type. Is this the proper one to use with the BBSHD? It's vital to select the proper MCU before programming.

As other commenters below said, they could not select the 3.86V. The reason is because the wrong MCU was selected. I had the same problem now I can select 3.86V

question if you may. I have a customer that brought in A E bike with the mid drive. Code error 30 present. Hook The charger up oddly enough. It cleared the code for about 4 hours. Code came back and will not go away checked all connectors. All pins, all female connectors appear to be free of corrosion and nothing wrong. And update didn't help However, the battery on the LCD display shows 0. The walk mode will show up, but it will not turn the motor on. Pedal assist does not work. The headlight indicator will come on, but no headlights or tail lights. I could not find any pinched wires either. I would suspect that this is a partly defective controller. And I know it's more difficult for you to answer that. On your end than would it be for me? Having it in your hands? However, in the detail that I have provided. Wold you say that I am correct in that assumption?? I know that it is a possible hit-and-miss. Could it be the lcd display? I don't know, but I am leaning towards the controller myself. What are your thoughts, please?

I have a Bafang BBS-HD 48V 1000W motor. It was working properly, but then it started giving an error code 30h and didn't move. I found out that in this video, a person fixed this problem by installing new firmware, which I also did. However, I suspect that I may have done something wrong or made a mistake because both my motor and battery are 48V.

Then things got strange. I powered on the battery and started the motor, but the screen went black, and I heard an electrical sound from the controller, motor, or battery. It sounded like something had broken or burned. So, I'm thinking I may have burned my controller.

My question is, is the firmware installed in the controller? If I get a new controller, will that fix the issue? Because I can't even install new firmware anymore as nothing appears on my screen. So, is the firmware stored in the controller and not in the motor?

Good job guys! I am having issues with my bike equipped with a bafang m400 mid motor.
Doing uphills, the power suddenly stops and the display shows number 25. I know there is no error 25 for this model, and the bike doesn't have a brake lever sensor.
Any ideas?

Can you do anything with a dpc 18 display with dual mode ( Eco/Sport) so I can use this display on the BBSHD

I do NOT care for the dpc 07 that came with the kit it has no usb port. and it GYNORMIOUS

My heart dropped today when I got the 30 H error before I even started riding. I've had my bike for 2 years with no issue until now. All the troubleshooting with connectors did not work. Luckily, I purchased a programming cable when I bought my bike but have never used it until today. 🙏 Thank you so much for this video!

I did the steps you described in the video, but the previously working system is completely broken, it does not see the battery and gives 30 error. Correct hex. How can I find the software?
MCU type: STC15F2K60S2
F/W version: 7.2.5S

Cant get past "Check MCU" it hangs at "Checking target MCU". Motor is getting power and distributing power.
Error 30 here (coincidence?) within minutes of chain jumping sprocket, (fixed the chain and power back ON throw error 30).

wire harness looks ok, i route cable well: slack, drip loops, no pinch points, zip ties loose, velcro, protected from things hitting wires.

Everything works until the download file to controller it starts procedure and says 67% failed to complete

Also says use newest software, which I'm using
