Forkaster is a great tire. You had detailed reasoning why you chose it and it is great anyways. You don’t need a 2.6 Assegai just because it’s an enduro bike. Open your mind, people.

So smart. And you know how to ride very well so you can stay smooth in the chop and generate traction in the turns!

Forecaster Rekon is what I am running on my downcountry rig. I dig it so far, but will probably go less RR if I race this year. More grip = more fun though.

Here’s the deal. Anyone standing higher on the podium than Macky is allowed to comment negatively.

Cool. Congratulations on the race. Lots of hard work put in. 👍

I put this tire combo on my Ripmo AF (though I had to go 2.6" width since it has 35mm rims) and rolling resistance is much improved on my local trails. I'll go back to the Assegais/DHR for park days only!

Best tire renovation Maxxis has done in year. Grips like a minion rolls like a Rekon!

You catered to your strengths….I think it scares me (and likely others) because I know that super aggressive tires are just one crutch I would need to complete the race and i would still be way way way slower. Learning that a pro can outperform me (and most others) on on trail tires is just humbling

I’ve been wanting to try this tire but waiting for exo+ casing to come out. Kudos to you for running exo on an enduro course 🤗

I like the Forekasters, they’re great tires.

Actually looking to put this combo (forecaster and recon by the looks of it) on my 2022 trek slash. Want something to make it easier to climb with, but that can still have some good corner bit.

Will see if this combo works out

In the winter I have the Forcaster on the front and Ardent on the back because but if I want to go full mud/grip I have a High Roller on the front and the Forecaster on the back. I had a set of Rekon race for the XC but didnt feel any grip so changed to Ardent on the front and Ardent Race on the back. You know what you feel good with racing. I saw your epic Chile races on the Rekon Race in the mud and thought, damn if Syd and Macky can do that on them maybe I should try again!

You placed 4th in about as stacked a field as you can get in the US and placed ahead of a former national champion. Clearly it worked. About the only way you could've made that field more stacked would've been if Ritchie Rude showed up

Totally get that the Forekaster will work, it's not like Ikons or Racing Ralphs that'd probably fail in those circumstances.

I'm trying out a 2.6 Wicked Will on my 150mm FS... Love it

I just got a set of forkasters, and ima sorta disappointed at how narrow they are compated to the rekon.

Why did you guys skip the Leadville race?

It's just a personal choice . I prefer grip over rolling resistance. Even the few xc races I do . What I loose on the fast straights I might make up in the corners . So I am the opposite Mackey . People look at me funny running minions in a xc race

Off topic - but what do you use to shave your head?

Underrated tires, plow through the loam and are as tacky as Macky's custom paint job. Ride them with proper psi and they rip.
