in the comic the reverse flash is broken because the flash was his idol and he wanted to be like the flash so he repeated the accident until this happened and went back in time to meet him but went back to where the flash died so he went to his flash museum but it turned out he was his enemy and he had to live his destiny and become a reverse flash so as not to evaporate later when he hated the flash almost killed him but if he did he would lose his powers so he killed his mother and arrested his father, and then his life became a torment. and in the show most things are based but there are differences that the accelerator had to explode to create a flash after killing his mother and others but it shows that he is not entirely evil just broken
