The volume of an object is a measure of the amount of space occupied by that object. To measure the volume of irregular objects we use graduated jar. Graduated means increasing my regular amount. Graduated jars are marked with lines and numbers that show measurements. Filling a graduated jar to a line indicates a certain volume.
When we add objects into the jar the level of water rises. The volume of irregular object= Vr-Vi, where Vr is the raised volume after adding the object into the jar and Vi is the initial level of the liquid in the jar.
