i actually really love cooking, just not ina professional environment. the joy of preparing something for someone else and seeing them smile because of it, that feeling can never be replaced for me.

I think the question "What do I want in life?" is a horrible question because it has you looking at things from the wrong perspective. It tricks people into thinking there's this "one big thing" they're supposed to accomplish. There's nothing wrong with having goals but they can quickly turn into an obsession if you tie your self-worth into achieving those goals. A much better question to ask is "What am I needing in this moment?" and "How can I take steps to meet my ever-changing needs more often?" At least that way you'll be more flexible and won't feel stuck.

I’m not even a ~younger community member~ (I’m 35 next year) and I still don’t know what I’m ✨passionate✨ about so I really needed this reminder, thank you!

My parents coerced me into taking the road to medical school my entire life and now that I'm in college I finally realized that I don't want to work that field, and it was my parents influence that held me back from finding my true passion.

I recently discovered that I really love entomology, 🦗 the study of insects 🦗, and I'm gonna change my major very soon and work towards establishing myself into that field. For all of you lost out there, don't do what your parents want you to do, do what would make YOU happy.

Have an amazing day everyone! 😊

And, sometimes you don’t know you like something until you stop doing it.

Game Design. Programming. I love it. I love taking an idea and running with it, trying new things until the thing I want works. I'm 30 years old and it took me this long to find my passion. Never give up, people. I've tried physics, astronomy, neurology, psychology, mathematics, cooking, sewing, knitting, crafting, automobiles, mechanics, robotics, streaming, video editing, and more. Keep going, try new things, amd when you find it, you'll know. Good luck, friends.

I took the first job I could get when I was in college. Somehow I ended up teaching field trips at a museum. Never in a million years would I have considered being a teacher, but when a kid hugged me and told me thank you for teaching him, I knew I found my passion. So glad I took that random job that exposed me to teaching.

Don't limit yourself to one passion. You can love and be passionate about multiple things all at the same time!

First and foremost, it's okay not to know. It'll come, and more importantly, it will probably change.

Secondly, I think a common misconception is that you have to make your passion your job/career and that's just not the case. For 99% of us, the things we're passionate about won't have room for us to foster a career in. So I found a job/career that makes time and supports my passions which in turn helps me love what I do.

I'm passionate about playing sports, playing video games, and playing music. It'd be incredibly difficult for me to become a pro hockey player, a pro twitch streamer, or a pro musician; not impossible, just difficult.

Instead, I found a programming career that keeps me engaged, pays well, has a super flexible schedule, is remote, and promotes a wonderful culture.

Was it something I planned on becoming when I was a child? Absolutely not. I didn't even know what programming was. However, I wouldn't trade this job in for anything. It allows me to continue doing the things I love.

Be happy, be healthy folks. :)

Great video, Hampton. :) Much love.

I grew up doing martial arts, I hurt my self really bad and had to take a break. That break was the most bland and depressing point in my life. I've finally come back to martial arts and have my black belt in taekwondo and I'm working towards my black belt in karate. Truly fulfilling.

Writing is my passion. Whenever I sit down and write out the world inside my head onto my computer, there's a sense of happiness there, like I know exactly what I want to do. I feel the same about reading and playing the piano. All of these are things I genuinely enjoy. It's easy to tell when something is your passion; if it's not, you won't always be thinking about it in some corner of your mind. It's where you find yourself at your happiest.

Something I’ve got a growing passion for is learning. Learning is truly endless and being able to utilise or share what I have learned is so rewarding 🙏

I found that programming is my passion. I enjoy it, I do it for fun, and as a profession. I think I realized it's more of a passion, than a fun hobby, when I found myself arguing with my boss about something years ago. There was yelling, and some choice words; in the end we came to the same realization. We're both passionate about our job, and agreed to disagree.

I really, REALLY love nail polish, doing my nails, collecting it, the whole shebang.

I'm going into college to be an accountant because I'm pretty good at math and don't mind working with numbers rather than people.

Plus, I can use all that good accountant money to live comfortably and fuel my nail polish addiction.

I’m 45 years old and have asked myself this question for years. People online and in life will give you these grand responses but often the simplest the best. Just try different things. This is a great video ❤
