It's worth mentioning that you DONT need to give way to pedestrians on the road you are exiting FROM. This is a counter intuitive question appearing on the current vicroads online test.

You dont have to let them cross in front of you, but then if they do walk in front of you I'm pretty sure you will be at fault if you clip them, which sort of muddies the waters as it what "giving way" practically means.

It actually seems inverse as to what happens in practice. Most cars will let you cross BEFORE they enter a roundabout because they are usually stationary and it's not an inconvenience to them. However most cars will keep exiting a roundabout even if there is a ped waiting to cross, and most peds dont push their rights in this scenario.
